I am using a 6-year old MacBook Pro and a few days ago upgraded OSX to 10.15.6. Now when I start Logos 8 the application opens to the last layout but then immediately it crashes!
I cannot be certain that the upgrade and Logos crash are related because I cannot determine precisely when the OSX was upgraded.
I have deleted the app, downloaded and installed but the same thing is happening.
I have been in touch with Logos Support, but am told that the problem is not with Logos!
Has anybody else had a similar experience?
Any help will be most welcome!
Sorry to hear you are having problems
Try loading to a blank layout - press and hold the command key as Logos is starting.
If that doesn't resolve it, we would need to ask you to provide logs.
Thanks very much for your reply.
Holding the "Command" key down did the trick and Logos opened to a blank screen.
I did further testing and found the problem was with one particular layout and it was the layout that I had last used. Also in "Program Settings" I had selected to open Logos to the last used layout.
When previously using that layout, I opened the Atlas but did not close it and the cause fo the crash appeared to be that when I opened Logos next time, the Atlas would go to the dock as the layout stabilized, then Logos would almost immediately crash.
After opening Logos to a blank screen then selecting that layout, I picked up the Atlas from the dock and closed it. Having done this the problem was resolved!
When I spoke to Logos staff about the problem, they did not have an answer and I did send a log to them. That may reveal more specific reasons for the crash under those circumstances.
I hope this is clear but would be happy to provide further information if needed.
