I'd like to have a list of verses in order as I speak with someone and decide to use any of the methodical witnessing methods like the Roman Road or Four Spiritual Law or Gospel Bracelet.

In going through I would like to show (have the person SEE IT IN THE WORD) them any verse I reference.

Are any of the new 9 Mobile tools useful for achieving this well?

If you create a passage list, then you can just click the links. Or make a sermon document, where you can put the tract contents in there with the Scripture references, then tap on the reference to open your Bible to that passage.

Yeah I wondered if a Passage List would do it.

What about options in version 8?  I've not upgraded to 9 yet.

I was going to say something similar. Be your authentic self when sharing Christ with people. Tell them what he means to you. Going through some canned list of verses may have worked in past generations, but these days it reeks of a memorized spiel and is a big turn-off. People have so much access to information and text these days online. They want relationships, authenticity, humility, hope. If you capture their interest, you can work through verses with them later in a study-like setting. But first encounter? Don't do the canned spiel.

It's not about going through some canned verses...it's about the fact that the word never returns void and therefore about letting them actually see and read it for themselves...some for the very first time.

So having some of the verses to let them ready and being able to very easily pull up in a discussion is beneficial.

There are differing views on this topic from an evangelistic perspective. I don't want to wade into that discussion. To answer the question about the use of mobile... I would suggest that using the mobile app would present unique challenges and paper may be preferable.

No intention of discouraging Corbin. But I had the same reaction as Sascha.

Oddly, the early church apparently ran on a verse-stack, where modern scholars try to surmise where the quotes are coming from. But judaism was a constant discussion of this vs that. Quotes were the lingua franca. Jesus did it on synogogue day.  Later, Paul.

But Rosie's point is good. I grew up in verse-battles, but the denomination lived on the 'correct verse'. Later, I attended a different group, and verses had absolutely no significance ... they were seen as just one more argument. How you lived the verse-stack was the only question.

Lord have mercy people!!!

I don't want your opinion on how to do something.  I wanted an answer to a technical question.

I disagree with any of you who say I shouldn't use the word in witnessing because it and the Holy Spirit are what does the work.  I merely wanted an easy way to pull up verses that I often refer to in witnessing.

Sheesh.  ...never ask a question on this forum again.

Yes, a Passage List would do it well

You could do this using Notes.

If you create a Note with either a list of verses or some verses with commentary around them, tapping the reference would open your Bible to that place.

The potential advantage in using Notes over Passage Lists is the text you could type around them.

You have the option of opening the Bible in a split screen or in a separate tab - the choice of which is best may depend on whether you are using a phone or a tablet.

Would this work for you at all?

Thank you for your reply.

I am going to see if Notes will work the way I want since I don't plan to upgrade to 9 just yet.

I have used my kindle fire (6 inch - now discontinued) when studying the bible with people.  What worked great for me was to spit the screen in half with the biblical text on one and my notes on the other.  It wasn't a formal presentation, but an informal conversation about various biblical topics.

I think you should have the passage list feature in 8, so I am not sure what upgrading to 9 has to do with it.

Perhaps that's just in the desktop versions but not the mobile app?

That is correct. Passage Lists arrived in Mobile with Logos 9 as per the announcement at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/194793.aspx

I think others have already shared methods via L8 and L9 mobile tools that can help achieve adding a list of verses for quicker access.  I would also suggest trying a smaller/faster Bible app (not a knock against Logos mobile, it's created to be a great tool for study but not the nimblest and not meant to be).  I've used And Bible app effectively via bookmarks and notes function of the app.  Try out different tools to see what works best for you for the specific purpose you're looking to use it for.  Keep sharing brother (and growing and adjusting as God leads)!

I think Notes is your go-to for this, but I would suggest you could just make a text or rtf file so if somehow you couldn't access Logos for whatever reason, you would have something handy to use.

As an aside, try and get this under your hat so-to-speak. It will help your presentation. The more of it you have inside, the more effective the Spirit brings it forth.
