Baker Resource Freezes Mobile App

The Baker book of timelines, maps and charts that came over from Wordsearch causes the mobile app to freeze when I try to see a page. So far I’ve not been able to see the content because it just freezes.  I have to restart the app and quickly switch to another book before it freezes again.

I had a similar sounding problem - with a different resource - some weeks ago. 

I forget the details but I think it was resolved in an update to the app - so its worth checking if you are running the latest version.

Otherwise we probably need someone from Faithlife to look at your logs.

The app has updated recently (both the English and Spanish apps), but the issue so far is only with this resource.  I just tried again and it freezes both apps.  Maybe we’ll wait for a FL response, but something is definitely wrong with the charts resource.

DAL, if you are still having this problem, please send us your logs and also confirm that title of this book.

1. Open the app.
2. Tap the Menu icon (has three horizontal lines).
3. Tap Help.
4. Press "Report a Problem"
5. A pre-addressed email will open with a log file attached automatically. Press "Send" to send your report.

Same issue. I had to restart my iPad to get the app unhung from that resource.

Do you have the resource downloaded or not? If not, can you please download the resource (from the library) first and try?

Upon first inspection, it appears that we are trying to download the entire resource (in very small chunks) if you are streaming it (i.e. it isn't downloaded to the device).

This worked, but only after a hard restart of my device. That resource locks up the mobile app real good! LOL.

Presuming most wont know they need to download, I assume you'll still work on a fix? Or can you force a download of the resource the devices of owners?

Believe this should be resolved now, an updated version (2021-01-07) has been published.
