I don't hear anything yet about Logos March Madness 2021?
Any rumors of this year approach?
Nope is not March yet! Usually the first week or so before anything shows up.

It’s been a huge fizzer for me for a number of years, it’s no longer an event to mark in the calendar. It’s great for new customers or those with smaller librarie, but once you have a larger library rarely anything to write home about makes it to the final rounds. Hope you do pick up a good deal for you this year Wild Eagle.
This is why I am thinking that hopefully there will be in some way a new approach. We had for a number of times Author vs Author, Commentary vs Commentary set. Book vs Book would not generate lots of money for Faithlife. My suggestion would be Bundles vs Bundles where Faithlife could even compile some new bundles just for MM...
Personally, I'd rather have individual books available. Bundles tend to be too expensive for me and sets only ever appeal if I have virtually the whole set and can complete the set cheaply.
2 years ago was great when although they started with bundles of commentaries, they then relented and made individual volumes available at the appropriate discount.

I totally agree. I was pretty bummed last year when they chose not to repeat that, and only kept the discount on the sets. I didn’t wind up buying anything.

Bundles cost too much for me. I prefer that MM put individual volumes on sale. I have the invidious CAD / USD exchange rate to contend with, as well.
What I meant is to have bundles and break them up during sales, once that division is over. In other words to have different bundles or sets of books, for example Reformation bundle, Counterpoints Bundle, Commentaries Bundles, Dictionaries Bundles and etc., and once that division is over, all those books from that set to discount individually.
MM has sort of fizzled for me as it's mostly the mainstay stuff I already gathered. As much as I still am a fan of some authors, few of the heavies I care for even get a mention.
There have been some good sales in the past 12 months, plus the release of L9 and the expansion collections. We've also had some good ME sales. What else is there? My budget is somewhat limited now, so I'm hoping for a few books that are bargain priced. How about some of the stuff that rarely goes on sale? Concordia? Brill? Individual titles, not bundles.
Logos Mix & Match Madness! You can choose your own resources or bundles for 60% off for a full month without having to worry about who’s going to win or not! The entire Logos catalog is included! 👍😁👌
March Disappointment 2021
March Disappointment 20XX
.
Let me tell you the results:
1. Don't bother/wait, just look back on April.
2. Discounts are always disappointing. Most, you'll end up buying either just the winner or runner up, otherwise, everything else still expensive. Unless you're one of those logos fanatics who doesn't care about their money. Learn from my mistakes

my rules are
1. Do I want/need it?
2. Will I get it for cheaper than I would normally?
3. Can I afford the sale price?
if the answer to all three is yes, I’ll do it. Otherwise, no.
And don't forget: the phrase "March Madness" is copyrighted. I think Faithlife stopped using it several years ago. Now, if you have an eccentric uncle, I think you can still say he's "as mad as a march hare."
I think the official FL phrase is “March Matchups”.
Looks like it’s going to be commentary themed:

Yep! It’s listed under Sale — “Limited time” drop down menu. We’ll see what they’ll include this time around 👍😁👌
Well it seems I"m the only one to have voted do far!
I didn't vote for every match up. However, I really hope they make individual volumes available as otherwise I suspect Logos won't end up with any of my dollars.
I’m pretty disappointed that BECNT is excluded from the tournament, that should’ve been a no brainer to be included in there.
I suspect it's because the series is rarely (if ever) offered at more than less 30%.

It's a whole bracket of books by Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI!

I think I have all of the ones in the brackets 😕

NICOT/NICNT is also missing. This set has been available at a good discount in the not-so-distant past, however.
For me, as in the past couple of March madness events, there is likely to be little to entice me. I did vote and will vote for whatever series I think deserves the widest distribution.

NICOT/NICNT has won the past couple of times we have done commentaries. So, we decided this year to put it in the hall of fame. This means we still have it on discount at 40% off at https://www.logos.com/march-matchups.
As expected it’s a big [8-)] nothing to see her March March-up. At least there is some interesting stuff in the 4.99 publisher sale.
Any possibility for Dynamic Pricing in March for => https://www.logos.com/product/121460/the-macarthur-new-testament-commentary-series-mntc
Keep Smiling [:)]
I’m actually looking forward to polishing off a few sets at a discount
God’s word for you, ZEC, exegetical summaries
New guy question, but it seems a few of these commentaries are also in the Gold package and above. When the discounted prices are updated in a few days, will this dynamically reduce the price for those base packages as well? Or would it be best, if someone is looking at one of those packages, to buy the discounted commentaries to reduce the overall price of the package?
Will individual volumes be available? I have no interest in full sets.
The nice thing is you can wait until: All Deals Live: March 22–April 1 to find out and compare.
Nice! [Y]
Hi Justin, I’m fairly new too, but I think that if you’re considering a base package with a commentary set in it, the cost of the package ‘within’ the BP will always be less than the standalone price, even when on sale, so I don’t think buying the commentary set first will reduce the BP price by as much as you’d pay for the commentary.
Happy to be corrected of course by those who have more experience!

You are correct sir. Also, if the product goes on sale it does not affect the package price. As someone else said earlier, wait until the end and price compare.
Also, I would expect another package sale in the future so if the package is your decision and you can wait, I’d wait for the next sale.

I appreciate that. In the past, knowing that doesn’t mean it’ll follow the same pattern possibly going forward, approximately When were the base package sales? I’m 2 courses into my graduate program so I do have some things I am targeting and do have some time to wait, but also not that long.

That I cannot predict. They just finished up a long period of sales when L9 first released. I’d GUESS the end of this year. Pure guess though
I don't know if you've noticed, but each book, set, collection, bundles, etc., usually has a larger group that a particular resource is included in. So, check the commentary you're interested in to find out what larger group it may be included in. Sometimes, commentaries are broken up into smaller groups that go on sale separately, or the individual books may go on sale. Make yourself a wish list of all the pieces and check it whenever a sale is going on.
AYBC needs to go all the way! Joel Marcus' two-volumes on Mark are fantastic.
I would be interested to Lexham contextual commentaries N&O testametnt.
agreed; love to see this.
Kaleb, have you any idea when the NICOT/NICNT set will be updated to include the 2020 volumes on Amos and Ephesians that are only available separately?
I was planning to complete my set this month but the 40% looks less attractive when an additional $100 is required for these two volumes.
Thanks for any info!
Agreed. I’d buy it if Ephesians were included as well

Hopefully in time for the end of the sale but I’m guessing no
