Is there a way to have Logos read today's daily bible reading plan selection while I eat?

Yes, kind of. You have to navigate to the selection yourself first by clicking on the link from your reading plan, but then you can start Logos reading aloud by pressing Ctrl+R. Sit back and enjoy your breakfast. It doesn't know when to stop, though, so you will have to keep an eye on it and intervene when it hits the "Stop Reading" marker. Also, the reading pace and intonation is a bit unnatural sounding. I personally would rather listen to it on CD with a professional voice actor reading it rather than having each sentence constructed word-by-word by the software. But then finding the daily selection would be more cumbersome.

... or copy it into TextAloud or some other text reading program - it will only read the text you copy and you get better quality voices.

Or buy some of the voices at Naturalsoft http://www.naturalreaders.com/, several of us here have done so and the voices sound very good. You can hear samples of them at their site, IMHO they are way better than the stock Windows voices..

Bill,

I do that on most mornings.  I've also been experimenting with different voices you can buy.  Post any additional questions here if you need help.

Thanks, Rosie. I knew there was some audible reading capability. Yes, it is a mixed blessing since it won't stop at the stop mark and the voice is less than enticing. I was hoping my Dragon Naturally Speaking would do it, but it does not cover Logos text yet to my exploration.

Floyd, I'll explore TextAloud, since my Dragon Naturally Speaking does not work and the Windows voice is very tinny and mechanistic-sounding. Thanks,  Bill

Peter,, could give me specific voices you are experimenting with and your favorite(s) to date?

Thanks, Bill

I use VW Paul for my daily reading.  It sounds good, but has one drawback: it pronounces apostrophe words incorrectly.  I couldn't get the vendor nor Logos to help with this issue.

Go to Neospeech.com or Nextup.com and check out the voice samples and demos.
