When I try to add the James commentary ("+ these resources") from the Lange commentary series into my James collection, Logos shuts down.

It appears that your index may have been corrupted. The best course of action would be to type "rebuild index" in your command bar and wait for that operation to complete (you'll get the blue Logos icon in your menu bar until it's done) before attempting this again.
