Unlocking of an out-of-date Resource
I have been trying since May this year to purchase a copy of an out-of-date product of LOGOS: The electronic version of the Jerome Biblical Commentary.
After exploring every available avenue [Yourselves, Pearsons/Prentice-Hall, eBay, Askville, etc], I eventually found a willing soul who made a copy of their 10-year old 20 Meg file, jbc.lbxlls, available to me, and I have successfully loaded it into my Libronix Library. But the resource is (unsurprisingly) LOCKED. I tried going through the standard UNLOCKING procedure on Libronix, and got as far as identifying the original price, $59.95, but then the process stops as it cannot confirm the price – for the obvious reason that the product is no longer available. So obvously the normal unlocking procedure is not going to work, and I'm asking if LOGOS can do me a favour and come up with a software 'fix' that I can apply to open this resource? I’m not trying to avoid any expenses, nor to do anything illegal. It just is tragic that a wonderful resource like this is blocked to me for what comes down to a process issue. Clearly I am willing to pay whatever licence fee would be considered reasonable in order to overcome this problem. Michael Mahony, mahonym@iafrica.com, 0027-83-380-5085
