Continual Resource Downloads - Solution Found?

Hi! For a number of weeks now Logos has come up with a continual need to update resources every time it is started.

I turned over my keyboard to customer support last week and they deleted some files, moved stuff around and insured that I was on the latest version of Logos. Still no joy.

I've seen others post about this - but have seen no solution that has worked be offered to date. (Of course, I may have missed it!) Has any solution been found for this problem?

Some specifics:

     My version of OSX: Snow Leopard 10.6.4;
     Logos Software version: 4.0a SR-2 (4.10.4.6199);
     My platform:  MacBook - late 2008 variety, running Intel processor, 4gig of memory.

Hi Eloy,

 

You are right that there have been others who have had the same symptoms as you - but the same symptoms may come from different causes. (To sing David's Song) (that's not King David but his deputy Wink  )

In order for the Dev'd to hone in on your problem please do the the following.

 

  • Open Logos and wait for it to download the resources.
  • Open a Finder window
  • Press Command-Shift-G
  • Enter the text "~/Library/Application Support/Logos4" (without quotation marks) in the sheet that pops up
  • Control-click on the Logging folder
  • Select the compress option
  • Upload the resulting Logging.zip file to this thread (paperclip button in the post editor).
  • Delete Logging.zip

Yes. We should be pushing an SR-3 release today which will fix this issue.

Hey - thanks! You guys nailed it! SR-3 works as advertised - no more continual resource updates! Thanks for all you have done to help take my study and preparation to the 'next level'.

Would you mind posting your logs one more time now that the "continual downloading bug" has gone away? We put some extra logging in that I'd like to see the results of.

Post my logs... hmmm - it isn't that I covet my logs and want them just for me... I need to learn how to post them; ok, let me read up on how to do that and I'll do it!
