Hi Guys,

Since a recent upgrade was downloaded I keep getting a Windows 7 error message telling me the indexer has stopped working. I have tried the command field "rebuild indexer". Have also tried deleting the index file and rebuild ing again but it still stops. It attempts to reindex whenever I boot up my laptop.

I have plenty of memory and disc space so that is not an issue - the laptop is only 4 months old. I have Logos 4 build 4.2 SR-1(4.20.4.8289).

I'm new to this forum so not sure what my next steps are...

any help would be appreciated, thanks

Matt, welcome to the forums.

Thanks for the detailed report. What we need is to see some logs, so after you have run Logos4, wait a minute after the crash and then upload the logs in Documents\Logos Log Files.

This is the same error as in some other cases, and the resource is NASB95.logos4. Try the command  update resources in the Command bar. If it does not download any resources then:

  • delete NASB95.logos4, NASBNT.lbsrvi, & NASBOT.lbsrvi from C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\tfc0rexe.k2g\ResourceManager\Resources  (use Folder Options in Control Panel to view hidden files and folders)
  • restart Logos4

This should download tNASB95 and start indexing.

Matt,

The crash occurs a full 26 minutes after your Indexer log ends. That log file shows no crash. Are you sure you did not overlook another log file? The time stamp for the crash is 2010-12-18 09:49:06. Your Indexer log file ends at 2010-12-18 09:23:04.0968 Without knowing what was going on at the time of the crash we really don't know what to recommend.

If there is not an indexer file that shows the crash, you'll need to type Rebuild Bible Index in the Command Bar, hit enter, and wait to see if there is another crash.

This appears to be caused by KJV1900.logos4, but there is a lot of checking for updates to other Reverse Interlinears. Try the command  update resources a couple of times to see if it triggers a download + indexing, but FIRST Pause the Indexer then kill Logos4Indexer in Task Manager.

Have you got NASB95 and those other two files in the Resources folder?

Did you delete KJV1900.logos4, KJV1900NT.lbsrvi, & KJV1900OT.lbsrvi?

Do that and upload the latest logs.

Hi Dave...actually those NASB95 files you told me to delete were not downloaded again as I can't see them in the resources folder so I'm reluctant to go deleting more files....

Try update resources once more. Then upload the indexing logs.

Hi Dave

After updating the resources only one of the logs was updated...however I have attached the last indexer crash log as well if that helps...

Thanks

I'll also add that I restored the NASB files I removed earlier to the resources folder but Logos is no longer able to find or show the NASB version when searching for it in the library...

Thanks

Matt

OK.  Put the NASB files into a folder (eg. c:\resources) and move the equivalent KJV1900 files there. Then:-

  • type the Command scan c:\resources
  • restart L4
  • it should copy them to L4 \Resources, discover them and possibly index them.
