We hope to, sometime over the next week, upload some updated resources for the Göttingen Septuagint text.
These updated resources include a provisional morphological analysis of the
Göttingen LXX. We did a lot of work on comparisons with our existing
morphological data set for Rahlfs (as represented in the "Septuagint
with Logos Morphology" and the Lexham LXX Interlinear) to compare the
two.
Where we could make reliable assumptions about agreements between the
two texts, we incorporated the agreeing morphology and lemma
information. In doing this, we were able to cover just about 99% of the
word tokens. For areas that did
not reliably agree, we used other data sets to
prepopulate morphology and lemma information. The next step is to review and correct the analysis, but the initial outcome had broad enough coverage for us to want to release it as a provisional edition.
We don't have an exact time table for when the provisional morphology
will complete review and correction. We plan on commencing the review work in January 2011
and hope to have it finished sometime in the spring of 2011. As individual volumes are reviewed,
updates of those volumes will be made available to Logos users who have
already purchased Göttingen.
One issue is that this will be a 4.2 only update. Mac users on 4.1 will
continue to use the older versions of the resources. Mac users on 4.2 beta will be able to use
the resources. If a Mac user is on 4.1 and wants to have the provisional
morph edition, then they can install the beta, and the resources should
automatically follow.
Thanks for your patience with us as we make these resources even better!
