Bible Dictionary Crashes the Beta
I have tried three Bible dictionaries. Open search, choose a Bible Dictionary, I tested Eastern, NBD and SDA Bible Dictionary. Type in a word that the dictionary does not have. I used my own name. The program crashes.8750.Logos4Crash.txt

Thanks Kevin. Can you look at the log and see what the problem is?

I was able to duplicate this crash doing the following:
Open search
Select NBD (New Bible Dictionary)
Enter Fred
Start search and crash

Does not happen for me...works fine (0 results)

This is strange. I cannot produce any of the other crashes that have been reported, but I can repeat this one at will. Time for logos to chime in. I guess in the meantime I'll quit trying to find myself in a bible dictionary.

I'm getting this crash too. Same error message.
EDIT: After the crash Logos would not restart (splash screen came up, but no progress for several minutes). Checked TaskManager and 2 instances of Logos4.exe were running. I killed them both and restarted Logos without problems. When I repeated the search (for my last name in the Anchor Yale Bible Dictionary), Logos crashed again, but did not leave a process running. This time I was sure to let the error reporting (to Microsoft) complete and the "close this program" button to appear. Watching TaskManager as Logos loaded I noticed two instances of Logos4.exe appear briefly, then an instance of the Indexer; Indexer quit almost immediately and shortly therafter the second instance of Logos4 quit. I don't know if that's normal behavior, but I'm reporting it anyway, as I've never observed this before.

I do the same thing and get what likes like to be the same crash.
I tried with "Graham" - it found one result and was fine
I tried with "Malcolm" and it crashed
I tried "Fred" across the entire library and it worked - with over 700 results!
I then tried a search for "noword" across the entire library and it didn't find anything and crashed
So it looks to me as though the problem occurs when Logos can't find any results in a search.

This does seem to be a common crash, although it can be hard to reproduce (I haven't been able to as yet). There are a couple of other forum posts reporting the same thing. Logs have been provided to development. Thanks everyone!

I finally got the crash - I searched entire library for "drwfffa". Boom!

The problem had to do with our names. My proposal: Rewrite the dicitonaries and include my name and Fred's, so the software will not crash. Then Logos developers will not have to waste time fixing the code. [:D]
