4.2a beta 3: crash, crash, crash....
Wow, one crash after another for L4 Mac.... unbelievable.
Lots of crashes regarding search, others just clicking on the tab of a resource, some in re-designing a layout, and so on.
I kept hoping this behavior would halt, but I finally tired of L4 crashing.

Hi Lauren ~ Thank you for the logs. I'm sorry you're seeing so many crashes. Can you recall what the program was doing before the crash recorded in the logs? Do you have 4.0a B3 installed? (I see from your log that you have it installed.)

Unfortunately not able to provide greatly detailed information as these crashes occurred within minutes or less of re-openning the program. What I vaguely recall doing were morph searches (I believe right-click menu), also in one layout clicking on the "Septuagint w/Logos Morph" tab would almost immediately crash the program, and just re-arranging resource positions within a layout would crash the program - my apology for the lack of relevant information.
As always, thank you for looking into this.

Hi Lauren,
If your search view was a verses view, there is a bug that will immediately crash L4 Mac Beta 3. Is there a way to close the search or change the view before it crashes. This is what I was able to do.. change to align view. Then, until the next drop, don't go back to verse view.

My beta 3 was very unstable at first. I did a reboot and it seems to be a lot better. I was getting random crashes like you mention and hangs including one that would leave the UI running and unable to be Force Quit. Hence the reboot which seems to have cleared the situations up (at least for the time being.)

thank you for the advice, I seem to remember your (or someone else) post regarding this issue. In my case however verse view in all 3 types of searches (bible, morph, syntax) work, and today I'm unable to recreate the crash.
The resource "Septuagint with logos morph" is a problem and just now by opening this resource I twice recreated the software crash. attaching logs.

Yes, thank you. I was able to repro the crash after opening the LogosLXX and beginning to scroll in it. I'll submit both of our logs.

I replied too soon. Mine is continuing to hang. It seems to be most often when I am loading an older layout. I get beach ball then have to force quit and kill the gdb process. After that all is well for a while.

That was the culprit in two layouts that was crashing my system. I replaced it with another LXX, and everything seems fine. Tom reported in the other thread that this was fixed and will be in the next beta.

Do these layouts contain Septuagint with Logos Morphology? That resource was causing my system to crash. Since I also have a Windows installation, I was able to alter the layout there and synch back to the Mac and bypass the offending resource.
