BUG: *Seriously annoying* search-box behavior

This morning found myself once again fighting with Logos for Mac’s search-box dropdown list and its oh-so-annoying “auto-complete” logic.

Here’s the gist of it:

Started typing “righteousness” - (without quotes) - into the search box.  After typing “righte” the dropdown menu appeared and I selected “righteousness” and pressed space.  No go… “Oh, I forgot”, I thought, “unlike other apps you have to press Enter”.  So I pressed Enter and happily “righteousness” was placed into the search field.  Then I typed “god” and pressed Enter.  Helpfully (<sarcasm/>) the word “god” disappeared.  A tried a number of times, including typing “god”, waiting till the dropdown suggestion list appeared, selecting “God” from the list and pressing Enter.  Each time “god” or “God” disappeared and the search-box was left with only the word “righteousness”.

I’ve uploaded a video that shows the problem to YouTube. See http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwgWlf01MBU

This same behaviour still occurs with other drop-down menus that appear at various places throughout Logos which purport to speed up life by offering auto-complete but instead only produce frustration.

Interestingly, the best way to get rid of the "continuously delete last-entered word" search-box logic is to close the search window and open a new one.

Just to confirm, I can replicate this bug.

I'm not able to reproduce the disappearance of 'God' following your steps--when I type 'god' after 'righteousness' and press Enter, or first select 'God' and press Enter twice, the search runs as expected. What I am seeing, though, is that if I backspace out 'God', leaving 'righteousness' and press Enter, 'God' is put back.

I've submitted both of our reports to development.  Thanks.

Regarding the need to press Enter twice when you've selected from the autocomplete or suggested matches list, the first Enter is to select the match, and the next Enter is to run the search. If you don't select a match, pressing Enter once runs the search. If you click on the matching word using your mouse instead of pressing Enter, then only one Enter is needed. Enter replaces the mouse click to select the word.

Well, whatever the behaviour you're able to reproduce, this is something that Logos should debug and fix thoroughly because, as my video demonstrates, once the faulty behaviour kicks in it is super-annoying.  And, the same faulty behaviour appears in other places in Logos where drop-down "auto-suggest" menus are used.  Anyways, I look forward to this particular bug's demise.
