New paged view feature: Why "None" for columns as default instead of 1?

It might be the reason is that none is different in function than one column (like in the AUTO mode). I understand NONE as switch off the paged view.
EDIT: ..switched off the paged view with all the connected functions of the paged view.

Yes, I understand the reason behind it. And I understand NONE as switched off page view because I'm familiar already with paged view from earlier betas. But a new user just seeing Logos for the first time would see this command on the menu called "Columns" as it's now being called, and wonder why the options are "None, 2, 3, 4..." but not 1. And what does it mean to have No columns, they'll wonder. Of course they'll figure it out eventually if they play with the feature. I just thought the naming was a bit odd.

Call it Off and there may be room to squeeze in 1!

The default (what used to be called "page view" turned off) now means Columns: None. But there is one column in that view. It seems odd to be selecting "None" for number of columns when we get out of paged view. Shouldn't the default ("paged view" off) be 1?
I've submitted a request to be considered to add a one-column option for paged view.
