4.2a Release Candidate 1 (v4.21.5.0550) available

4.2a Release Candidate 1 (v4.21.5.0550) is now available for download. An RC is considered a stable version.
To upgrade to 4.2a RC 1 now, enter the Update now command if you’ve switched to the beta channel before, or enter the Set Update Channel to beta command if you have a stable version installed (such as 4.2 SR-2). Note that since this version is an RC, it will change your default update channel to stable. This means that if we were to ship an RC 2, you wouldn’t get RC 2 automatically, you’d need to switch your update channel to beta or install from the URL below. (RC 2 would then set the default channel back to stable.)
To install 4.2a RC 1 from scratch, click here: http://downloads.logos.com/LBS4/InstallerBeta/Logos4Setup.exe.
For Release Notes, see http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4.2a_RC_1.
See the 4.2a Beta Release Notes for more information on new features and bug fixes.

I currently have 4.2a Beta 6 installed. My update channel is beta and I am getting "No Updates Available" when I type Update Now in the Command Bar. ???

Melissa, I have installed the RC, but my update channel still stays "beta".

That's probably because you had intentionally changed your update channel to "beta" at some point in the past. If you'd stayed on the "default" channel while using a beta version, it would have upgraded you to each new beta release, but automatically changed back to "stable" when you upgraded to the RC.
If you would like to get out of the beta program now, type "set update channel to stable" in the Logos command bar.
Here's more on Update Channels.

Thanks Rosie. I knew that at one time, but had forgotten. No, I want to stay in the beta program.

After installing RC1, the update information on my home page and the "About Logos Bible Software" information in Help shows 4.2a (and doesn't show the RC1).
I forget whether this is expected behaviour but think it could be confusing to not include the RC level at this point.

This is expected behaviour. That's because the hope from Logos is that RC1 won't have any bugs and can then simply be re-released as Gold for everyone. So they don't include the label 'RC1' in anticipation of that.
