Great new Mac Feature - Get bible verses directly in Pages!
This is a great little feature in the new Mac release. In an y application that lets you use the services menu (e.g. pages) just highlight a verse reference such as Mark 1 and click [Shift] [cmd] e. Viola! The verse/s appear as though you had used the copy bible verses function, although with ludicrously fast speed!
This is is going to be a great time saver. It is worth noting it may not be available/turned on by default. It wasn't for me. To get it working go to your Mac system preferences, select keyboard. Choose Services from the box on the left. Then scroll down the list on the right until you see Copy Bible Verses & Replace with Passage. Click them to make them active.
I've attached a picture that may help. Thanks Mac Devs for this addition

This is a great feature that I would make much of if I could use it in MS Word 2008, but at the moment I'm not able to. Pages works fine, but not in Word. I have a thread open already - http://community.logos.com/forums/t/30560.aspx

I wonder if some other function in Word is hogging those shortcuts? You could try to assign a different shortcut and see if that works?
I don't have word but I've tried it in a few other applications (not ones I would ever use it in - but just to test) and it works in them...

Can confim that there is a conflict with "Replace with Passage" (Shift-Cmd-E) - this brings up the Reviewing Toolbar.
There are no services listed in the Word main menu, as there is in Pages. Perhaps Services aren't available in Word/ MS Office?

Mmmm. That is promising. I would expect if it was totally unsupported it would not have the menu at all...

And surely the point of these services is that they are system-wide, not application-dependant?

That's weird. I don't have those options in my control panel. Did you have to manually add them? Thanks.

I'm not seeing them either. I wonder what has to happen to make them appear?

What version of OS X are you running? Wonder if there might be differences between Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard in the use of Services.

Benefits of this feature would include quick implementation of verses or passages into documents we're writing. Are there other ways it can be used?

cool.. it works for me. I'm using OS X 10.6.5 and Logos Bible Software 4.2a (4.21.5.0585) (Update Channel: beta).

This feature isn't working for me. I've followed the instructions, but every time I try to use it, it activates Parallels and Logos (PC). For some reason, it bypasses Logos (Mac)!

Works in Word 2011. Service menu in Word shows these options available.

Does this work on the i-pad if I have the pages and logos apps?

Sure wish I could get it to work in Word 4 Mac 2011.
Can we get a screen shot for this program?
Appreciate it...Michael

This looks like an awesome feature, but unfortunately I'm not seeing this in my system preferences. What version of OS X are you guys running? I have Snow Leopard. Maybe I have something else shut off or on that is preventing this feature from working.

What application are you using? We've already established that it won't work with MS Office for Mac 2008.

I had to select the ref first before the shortcuts appeared and worked. At first I couldn't figure out it why it was intermitten before I realized that I had to have the ref selected .

On Leopard, you may need to reboot, the services menu is generated from your applications when you log onto your computer.
On Snow Leopard, you can update your Services from the System Preferences (or rebooting)
System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> Click on 'Services' then disable and reenable
Reboot if disable/enable does not work

Rebooting the computer worked for me. Thanks, Glenn.

I am using OS X 10.6.6 and Logos Bible Software 4.2a SR-1 (4.21.5.0790). Other than turning it on in the services menu I didn't have to do anything... to get it to work.
I do also have parellels and Logos on there, but this doesn't get activated when I use it.

Found a conflict in Chrome. Shift-Command-J brings up the downloads window. Any ideas how to change keyboard shortcuts for Chrome?

Apparently, it's not possible at this time.
