Bug / Crash: Searching (CTRL-F) at John 6 in NIV with reverse interlinear ribbon enabled
This occurred twice in a row in the same place.
(I'll post these logs before testing with other resources.)
What I did:
- Open L4 to John 6 in NIV(84)
- Press CTRL-F and search for all
- After first encounter search again, repeat a few times.
- Result: L4 crashes and sends report to MS to search for solution.
The second time, I started with John 5. The search occurred after I got part way through John 6 again.
Logos4.log and Logos4Crash.txt attached.
EDIT: I'm able to get to John 6:9 in the NIV(84). The next press of the continue search (next) button causes repeatable crash.
EDIT #2: Changed title to include "But" and specified that this happens with the rev int ribbon (bottom panel) enabled.

Repeated the above with ESV. I was able to get to John 7:26 and at the next press of the button to continue searching Logos crashed again.
Logs posted below for comparision (didn't post the Logos4Indexer.log but it finishes normally).

Hi Richard
Just tried it here - NIV84 - and can't get it to crash.

Hmm. This is repeatable every time for me.
Maybe I should specify a few things:
Using 4.3 beta 2 (4.30.0.0208), on Windows 7 (64bit).
Also the panel is not linked, though it is set to "Send all hyperlinks here," with only the bottom panel of the interlinear showing (and there only showing Surface; MSS; Morph; Louw).

Repeated after restarting Windows with the same result in the same location.

My setup is the same.
So, just to be clear
You open the search window with Ctrl-F and then just scroll through using the down-triangles on that control?

Yes.
Also opened a blank layout, then opened NIV84 to John 6:1 and tried again with same results.
Using the Search dialog and searching the NIV84 for *all* (which should yeild the same results as CTRL-F: all) does not crash the program.
I did the same search beginning elsewhere (including the OT - where NIV84 has no rev int info). After 3 or 4 button pushes (of the down triangle), I get the same thing. I don't think it's passage specific.

I was going to suggest you try redownloading NIV84 to see if there was an issue with your copy but you are also seeing similar issues with the ESV.
Have you tried doing this with the rev int information hidden?

I just did, and was able to continue searching for an extended period of time. I re-enabled the rev int (bottom panel only) and after 3 more clicks it crashed.
Seems a bit odd. I wonder how the CRTL-F search tool interacts with the rev int information?

Very good question!
And now I have managed to get it to crash as well - I was just into John 8.
I think we need someone from Logos to look at these logs.
Graham
Edit: Previously I had the inline display enabled, not the ribbon so that might be relevant. Sorry for any confusion

This appears to be working as it should in 4.3 b4, at least for my initial test of 30 clicks (same place/search term). Thanks!
EDIT: FYI, this has now been added to the release notes as fixed in b4.
