Just a quick question regarding 3rd party resources (in this case the Book of Concord by Kolb-Wengert through Augsburg-Fortress Press)... once a resource is produced in Logos format, do any corrections, updates etc., come by way of the 3rd Party or by Logos?
In the case of Kolb-Wegnert, the Lutheran Confessions Book of Concord uses a common notation system including paragraph #s and has an index system in Logos set up for the documents but evidently Kolb Wengert doesn't include those tagging features. In other versions of the Book of Concord, (Tappert, Concordia, Triglotta) those tags allow the resources to be linked together like a Book, Chapter, Verse in the Biblical resources, so you can link them and move uniformally through all of them, but alas, Kolb-Wengert doesn't include the paragraphs and you can't enter in the same reference system... so do we contact Augsburg-Fortress, or is that something that eventually Logos could correct? I realize it's not a high priority item, but wondered if it's something that could eventually be addressed. Thanks!
I'd like to bump this old topic. I'm constantly frustrated by not being able link different versions (Tappert & Triglot) to locations in Kolb. The paragraph numbers are in the print edition. This is how citations are made in the BoC. Thanks!
Generally speaking, resources that have been created in Logos by a third party remain the responsibility of that third party (and truthfully, therefore rarely if ever have free updates). These third party agreements stopped several years ago. I think there are some exceptions to this, where third parties have agree new contracts with Logos that have see Logos take over production/updating (presumably for a greater share of the profits).
That said, it's not always possible to tell whether a resource was produced by a third party or not, though if the resource was originally sold in retail packaging on CD by the print publisher, that's often a good sign that it was.

It's a great idea! Hopefully it's a great encouragement for Logos to improve on its stable of various offerings!
