BUG: Crash upon opening custom layout on 4.3 Beta 13 (4.30.0.1437)
I've noticed this in the last few betas (12 & 13) where I open Logos4Mac, then proceed to open a custom layout that expands to my entire 27" iMac monitor. As soon as it opens all the panes it shuts down the program and a Mac crash log send request pops up. This is my first time to submit logs. Hope I sent everything!

Paul ~ Is this layout opening in a full screen or in a maximized floating window? Could you provide a few more details about it so we can try to reproduce the crash? Thank you for sending logs.

Melissa, Lately my Logos window opens in a very tiny window in the bottom left hand corner and I've disabled the front page from opening. From there I open my custom layout which expands the Logos program to full screen. I'd make a screenshot of the layout but it won't stay open long enough before crashing.
[EDIT]
I switched to my MacBook Pro and can provide a screenshot of what the layout looks like. I'm curious to know if its crashing due to the certain parts of the word study and passage guide its having to run and display?
[EDIT2]
I'll add this is taken from a 13" screen so the greek word study for forgive is not showing but expanded in the layout. On my iMac this is viewable in the provided space of the layout. No floating windows were used either.

Thank you for the additional information and the screenshot. We will try to reproduce the problem.
Follow up questions:
- By 'full screen', do you mean 'maximized'?
- If you maximize the main window before loading your layout, does it crash?
- Have you tried recreating the layout?

sorry for the late response:
1.) By full screen I mean the layout maximizes the window automatically. I don't have to stretch the window out to fit the entire screen (can we still call windows, windows in Mac??? [;)])
2.) If the Logos program is either already open/maximized or I stretch it out to cover the entire screen before loading the layout it does not crash (Interesting!)
3.) I have not tried recreating the layout. It was an adaption from another user's layout I've tweaked over the past several months.
Could it be that the program having to maximize entirely when asked to run the custom layout could be causing the crash?

Well I was prepared to post logs since I had the same thing happening yesterday on my office computer, but when I fire it up today, layouts are loading fine. So I can report that I've seen crashes on custom layouts, but have nothing more to offer as to what causes it.
The problem only happened on my office iMac; never happened on my home Macbook Pro.

This seems to be one of those odd-ball things. I have had it happen as well: it happened the first time I attempted to open a saved layout in Beta 12 and in Beta 13. I had it happen once or twice more in Beta 12, but not yet in Beta 13 (except for that first time). I have not reported it since I have never been able to determine any pattern to the behavior, and I was not sure that it was a problem specific to Logos. But since it has happened for others as well, I thought I should just mention it. When/If it happens again I will submit logs.

I tried this again, opening L4 to a smaller main screen with blank layout, and then loaded a maximized layout similar to yours. I'm still not able to reproduce the crash, but I will submit your log to development.

Melissa, I skipped your suggestion of recreating the layout. I will try that now...

I created a new and identical custom layout that uses a maximized screen (like the previous layout) and when the screen is already maximized it doesn't crash, but if I shrink the Logos program area and then launch the new layout, it still immediately shuts down, triggering a Mac error log request screen. I'm on a 27" iMac and wonder if the sheer size of the layout could be asking too much?

I'm not sure, but I will let development know that a fresh layout behaves the same way on your iMac. Thanks.
Update: Developers have tracked this down to an issue with Lion and, primarily, loading a floating window in a layout (although your layout doesn't include a floating window, the error is the same). They are working on a fix, which will be included in RC2.
