Crash: making PB from docx
i tried to load a simple HTML file into Word and save it as a docx file and then build a PB with that docx file.
It crashes every time, i am running Word 2003 with the Compatibility add-in from MS.
Log file: 3821.Logos4.log
There was no crash log or index log
Docx file which causes crash: 2671.PB 2003 Test2.docx

For info, this also causes Logos to crash when saved using Word 2007.
I downloaded your document, opened it and saved it. I then tried to use the saved file for creating a PB.
Whether the same thing would have happened if loading the Html file directly into Word 2007 is another question.

I was able to successfully build your document. It did come up with two warnings for external images, but that shouldn't (and didn't for me) cause it to crash as those elements should be ignored.
I'm going to experiment a little further on another test machine with a different configuration and see what happens.

The book compiles for me in a post-4.3 build but does indeed crash in 4.3.
I've sent the document and the logs to Development for investigation.

I'm having a similar problem trying to compile a PB. It's a 45 page Greek document and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it.

Seumas, this looks like a different issue than the one with Steve's document. I'll make a case for you, but the Developer is likely going to request the document you are having trouble with. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your document on this thread. Otherwise, send it to Logos4Feedback@logos.com and we'll attach it to the case.

I have a follow up question for you. If you open the Personal Books panel, does the book you are trying to compile have a 'Last built' date below the title (even though it crashes during the process)?

No, there is no 'Last built' date listed.

My problems continue with building books. I repeatedly receive a "build failed" for a couple of documents. I do not receive a log file to submit, so I will attach the problem document [:)]

I did a "clear formatting" and it built just fine. I was working on a 500 page document and was experiencing a similar problem. By trial and error, I narrowed it down to something in the last 10 pages! I cleared all formatting, redid it, and it worked wonderfully.

Thanks alabama! Took me another 3 or 4 attempts. But it finally built successfully. I wonder if it should take so much work...
