IOW, I would like to search for commentary on the Scripture I'm interested in studying without having extra entries in my results list that I'm not interested in having to wade through.

Hi Michael,

Are you referring to the basic search tool, here,

If so, have you considered setting up a series of collections? This way you can restrict your search to a specific collection. In the screenshot above, I have created a collection of my entire library excluding Bibles, Commentaries, lectionaries, etc. I also have a master collection including all my commentaries and separate individual collections which breakdown my commentaries according to type (technical, semi-technical, etc.). This enables me to then limit my searches and hopefully return a more focused (and manageable) set of results.

The wiki provides really helpful guidance on setting up collections, here

Andy

Thanks, Andy.  Yes, I was referring to the basic search tool.  Thanks for the tip.

It looks as if Andy has answered your question but I thought that I would throw another one out there. I have made a couple of "Custom Bible Study Guides". One of which is commentaries only and the other one is a "shortened" passage guide. Depending on what I am wanting to do, I may use one of these.
