I have used exactly the method called for by the MP video, yet my hyperlinks don't work.  Any suggestions?

Just to make this post a little more clear.  I am using Lion and am copying the Logos page as a URL and posting it into the word document (latest version of word).  Despite this when the file is made into a PBB the hyperlinks don't show up.

Samuel -

Would you care to upload the .docx file (or a sample of it) so we can look at it?

I'll be glad to upload a portion of the document.  It is pretty large since it will be lecture notes for a class I am writing, but I will upload a portion with some hyperlinks and be forever thankful if you can be of help to me.

I am wondering if it could be the fact that the hyperlinks are in the outline format of Word?  If you can help me figure this out and would like a full copy of the PBB or my little book on English Grammar for NT Greek I will be glad to send it along.  I appreciate the help very much.5228.Test Doc.docx

Word automatically adds file:\localhost prefix to hyperlinks.  Instead of using Word hyperlinks, wonder about using wiki style format:

[[Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha >> logosres:dntb;hw=Apocrypha_And_Pseudepigrapha ]]

[[Council of Trent >> logosres:pdbibstu;ref=IVPPocket.Council_Of_Nicea_(Biblical_Studies) ]]

Note: forum post has a space before trailing ]] so logosres link clickable on web page (space not needed in Personal Book docx).

The Wiki style did not work either.  I am following MP's video lesson on adding hyperlinks (on the Logos page as well as the MPseminar page.  He specifically instructs one to use the url choice when adding hyperlinks.  I want my students to be able to click on the syllabus for a reading assignment as well as being able to click for additional articles, etc. in the actual text.  So far I have not been able to create one usable hyperlink.

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep trying different combinations until I can call tech support and perhaps get someone who knows what the problem is.  I appreciate your response.

For the Lamb,

Sam

After modifying first page a bit, wonder if some hyperlinks work, including one in a Table of Contents paragraph:

Observation: MP is using Word 2010 on Windows, which works as shown in video.  In contrast, Word 2011 on Mac messes with logores hyperlinks => hyperlinking Word 2011 with Logos 4  Apologies: current version of Microsoft Word has different hyperlink editing on Mac and Windows.

Sam -

I can confirm KS4J's findings. I experimented with your document a little this morning. Unfortunately, I don't think I have the resource you are hyperlinking to. What is it?

Another option is to try using the free LibreOffice. It doesn't seem to handle the outline very well, however. Here is a snippet of your document composed in LibreOffice:

Dear Alabama and KSFJ,

First, thanks so much for the help.  Second, I am not sure what I should do now.  Should I change the hyperlinks in some way or is using LibreOffice the best bet at this point?  I can't believe that there is no way to hyperlink from Word to Mac.  Do you think I should call Tech?

Again, thanks for your help and if I can be of any help to you please let me know.

Alabama,

I tried the document that you sent back and while it shows up as hyperlinked in the PB, when clicked upon it shows "resource unavailable."  I know that I have the resource (it is Dictionary of New Testament Background).  This seems like it is much more difficult than it should be.  I wonder if I should create the book on a PC?

Sam -

Every time I tried to change the link in Word, it added back the unwanted info. You can always try to call tech support, but my guess is that they will not be able to help you. LibreOffice is a bit awkward to work with, as you might expect a free program to be. I hate to say this. Gulp. Maybe you should use the windows version of Word. You could, of course, run boot camp or the like.

Wiki Logos 4 Mac => Need Logos 4 PC feature? includes Windows virtualization and native boot options.

Option: can create Personal Book on PC, then copy *.lbspbb file(s) to Mac and use scan command in Logos 4 Mac to copy and index files without recompiling them.  Windows and Mac have different file system layouts (e.g. Mac does not have drive letters).

Could contact Microsoft Technical Support since Word 2011 on Mac does not support logosres: URL addresses, but Word 2010 on Windows does.
