how does "tag" and "my tag" work in search fields

What is the purpose of "tag" and "my tag" in the search fields when I do a search and select these? They don't seem to do anything.

Hi Tim,
If you have tagged books in your Library, then your tagging acts similar to a Collection. Except with tagging you can create more specific tags for a selection of books. Then in the search window you have as one of the options is to pick from one of your tagged names.
In the image below i selected one of my tagged field names (Bible Help, a general tag that i applied to many handbooks etc). As you can see my search term was found in 3 of the books that i have tagged with this tag. There are 37 books which are marked with this tag name in my library.
EDIT: below is an image which shows how i have tagged books in my library
EDIT2: books in your library can be tagged with more than one tag. i have drawn a red circle around one book which has 4 different tags attached to it.

Hi Tim,
after reading you post more carefully, i see that you were specific about Tags for the Search Fields. So after playing around with Search and examining the Info on a couple of books i found that some books have a search fields marked as Tag. And this field in Search reflects those kind of books which have them set in their search field. Below is an image which shows the Harper's Bible Dictionary's info screen and you can see that it is marked with Tag in the search field. Also notice in the Search window that i have selected tag as a field and the Harper's Bible Dictionary as the book to search. It found many pictures.
So you might running the search as shown in the image to see how this might work.
EDIT: you might also change the books to be search (as in the above image) to Entire Library. When doing that i found that i have 23 books which have the search field marked with Tag and match photo.

Thanks. I see how that works with "tag" but what about "my tags"? I have my whole library tagged with "my tags" but do not see how this particular field in the search dialogue does anything.

Steve, this is what Tim is refering
TIm this is a good question. I tried the following:
Search My Tag in Entire Library for Romans
The search results will identifed
Topcis relating to Romans (not sure why because I haven't tagged these topics myself)
My content that includes Romans as a tag eg. I might have a clipping which I have tagged as Romans. (This is behaviour I would expect). It brings up note files where Romans is hyperlinked as a verse ( I would not expect this - if i had ability to apply a 'mytag' to a note then it would be expected), also brought up a visual filter with Romans in Title ( for consistency I would much rather visual filters could have mtag applied and it returned results based on this rather than the title field)
My Books came up with nothing but I haven't created anything relating to Romans yet, let alone tagged it in my library. I wonder what if this would
My Library - it came up with nothing - I have tagged a resource with a tag Romans so I would have expected search results to bring up this resource - so not sure exactly what it is doing in this instance....
All in it seems to be inconsistent in what it is searching for .....maybe someone has a better explanation..( I am running beta so will post of findings there when I get a chance latter today.

My you are an inquisitive one, LOL
This search field only shows up in Search when doing a Basic search with Entire Library selected. When you have these search criteria then a bar named My Content will appear in the results area of the Search window. Items which appear in My Content are your documents that you have created (e.g. Notes, Clippings, etc). This search field (My Tag) relates to this area of search results (EDIT: My Tag only appears as a search field when the above criteria is selected) and L4 looks for tags that you have entered (e.g. inside a Clipping where you have entered a specific tag). So to be more specific, My Tag will not look in your library, only your documents (at least to my understanding).
EDIT: Andrew i see that you have already answered Tim. i am getting old and slower (LOL).
EDIT2: i think this search field allows us to limit our searches to My Content and not apply it to our Library. Andrew i tried your example Romans and it found other documents of mine where that word was found.

Thanks everyone! That was very useful information!! I tried it out and indeed it does allow me to limit my search to my personal content.
