This is really great; thanks so much - what a blessing!

My final Word document ended up being 9.25MB and 564 pages... I think it's the largest Word Doc I've ever created.

I'm amazed that it sucked right into Logos without incident, and works flawlessly. I feel like I have a brand new Logos.

God's richest to you my friend.

Hi Steve,

A couple quick Q's for you:

  • I didn't see a way to give donations to you????
  • Do you have other tools you've created that are available?

Thanks again!

Hi Lynden,

Lynden Williams:
Steve, I have word 2007, when I click on them the books do not open in L4.

Sounds like the problem that i show a work-around in the first part of this post. You need to create a blank docx and then compile it with L4. Next you need to use the Bibl2 tool to create your images with links. Then Copy/Paste into the blank docx file that you created. Now L4 should remember the and compile that docx properly. i'm not sure why L4 is ignoring the links when compiling the docx built by Bibl2.

Thanks Steve. If you have the time, please see if you can help me with the problem that I posted in the general forum about viewing Logos videos on youtube.

Will try the work around.

Hi Thomas,

Thomas Jackson:
Question:  can a feature be added to catolog the 'Hidden Resources"?

i don't know if the hidden resources are present in the DB. And if they are how much trouble it would be to incorporate those. i will look into it sometime in the future when i have time.

EDIT: the info for hidden resources doesn't seem to be present in the DB.

GREAT TOOL!!!!!

Thanks for bringing this post back into the active forums, Thomas.

Steve, you are a marvel. Thanks for this wonderful tool. I have close to 5,000 resources, so I have much work ahead. I second the wish of a poster for extending the capacity to 1000 books.

Rosie, I haven't been to the wiki or thread that you mentioned where useful programs are collected yet, but I will make it a top priority once I've put in some library work.

Wow!!! this is the best thing since collections. Thanks again Steve!

Steve,

I've run upon some trouble not covered in Help. After having successfully built two docx files each containing 288 books, I found myself unable to merge the 2nd library into the 1st with both images and type intact. I was only able to merge either all type or all images, but not both. What is the remedy?

Thanks

i usually have my PB docx file open and the cursor positioned at the end of that file.

Then i run Bibl2 which creates a new docx with the images & links. In the Bibl2 docx i usually click out side the table and press Ctrl A which selected everything in the Bibl2 docx. Then i press Ctrl C which adds everything in the docx to the clipboard (for large amount of images you may need to wait a couple of minutes while Word adds that info to the clipboard.

Then i return to my PB docx file with the cursor at the end of the Word doc, then i press Ctrl V to paste the clipboard contents into that docx file. Then i save the PB docx file. Then i go to L4 and compile my PB.

Then i delete the Bibl2 docx file.

I do everything exactly as you indicate in the above quote. Including being sure the original docx file is not read only. But for some reason the second docx file compiles into the original docx file with either only type or images.

Thanks for your help Steve.

Hi Thomas,

i am still running L4, so i will have to look into this later. i visit with a couple of people who have L5, so i will try copying the associated db's and see if they are similar enough that Bibl2 can read them. If so, then i will need to investigate how L5 is integrated into the Registry. If it is very similar, then it should not be too difficult to update Bibl2 to read from either L4 or L5. i don't know how long this will take tho.

Updated Bibl2 to work with Logos5's database. This should work now with L5.

You can download the updated version here: L4-Bibliography2

If you have problems:

  • with the installer: please read the Note under where you downloaded the file. It has a link to a forum post which gives you instructions on how to uninstall the old version, then install the new version.
  • running the program: please drop me an email: admin [at] bibl2.clark-tx.net

You can see the brief release note here (see note for Nov 10, 2012)

Fixed 2 problems which were very annoying:

  • You could not save the docx generated by Bibl2 and build with L4/L5 PB tool.
  • When building your PB, you received many warning messages.
  • (the above problems once had work-arounds in this post. But these work-arounds are not needed anymore)

You can download the updated version here: L4-Bibliography2
