Tom,
How do I force the indexer to redownload the A3 update? My computer downloaded the update, but when the Update Installer goes to Extract the update a window pops up that says " Update Error! An error occurred while extracting the update. Please try again later." I think my update download my have been corrupted.
Blessings,

Im confused about were do we get the updates from because I don't see it any were? Where is the links for them?

Jerry, the updates should be automatic when you start Logos.
If not, you can read the FAQ that is pinned to the top of the forum. It has the information you need to manually update.
http://community.logos.com/forums/t/2951.aspx
What is confusing about auto-updates or reading the FAQ?

yeah, he's like that with a lot of us. sorry.
one thing to try - quit Logos 4 and restart it. it should auto start the download and u should see it on the top of the screen. hover your mouse over the blue icon on top to see the progress. hope that helps.

In passage guide, I type Psalm 27 and go (or anything). I think it does a Passage Guide by default (which is fine with me). The search pulls up my resources (or a view of six of my resources, two of which I like, four of which are hit or miss for me). I click the "More" link and get an ever spinning wheel. Also "Cross References", "Topics" and "Interesting Words" have never ending spinning wheels as well.
Do you need logs?

Guys,
You probably know this, but A 3 has the same crashing bug from A2. i.e whenever you try and open a tool from the PG/EG combo report generated by the home page the program crashes.
Here are my logs:8780.Logos4.log">http://community.logos.com/cfs-file.ashx/__key/CommunityServer.Discussions.Components.Files/75/8780.Logos4.log:550:0]

Don't take it personally brother. There is a post at the very top of the Mac forum that says FAQ, in that FAQ is a heading that says, "Download". I am at a loss why it is hard for people to find that or why that is confusing to understand. If you say, "it is confusing because.." then maybe there is a legit reason why the layout or setup is confusing. So my question is helpful if you feel inclined to give details on why you were confused. If you would rather read it as a personal attack, then I guess it is not that helpful. Sorry you felt that way Jerry.Jerry Walker said:Scott Stackelhouse said:I know right!!! Indexing finished. I had a few crashes so I attached the Log file for reference.
One positive note, I see that on my last crash it reported the error to Apple, so reporting is working. That is good.

Cheer up friend. I have seen be a bit rough...and maybe stir up a little trouble at times, but I imagine Logos sees you as a huge asset in helping calm people down and get them pointed towards the info they need. I know you really aren't that upset about the previous post, but you deserve a big thank you for the help you give all the rest of us (and probably a [G] from logos)
Blessings,

Do the Logos programmers receive these logs from Apple? Should we use this reporting feature and post our various logs as well?

If you read my original post you will see I said clearly that I was confused about on were to get the updates! Up until now I haven't seen any posts on this forum that said go to the FAQ post and get the current updates! And further more if you really wanted to be helpful what you should have did is directed everyone to the post. And lastly what Im confused about is why some on this forum have all these bible resources and still don't have humility? We can find how to do hebrew and greek but can't do nice???

During the Beta process for L4windows, we were asked to send the reports and post the logs. I assume it is the same here since the programmers took the time to add reporting at this early stage. Blessings brother :-)MichaelKares said:Do the Logos programmers receive these logs from Apple? Should we use this reporting feature and post our various logs as well?

Again, my question was nice. I was simply asking you, what is confusing about either the auto-update feature or the FAQ itself. One possible answer to my question could have been, "I see the FAQ, but it does not explain XYZ, and therefore I am confused by it."
Another possible reply would be, "I see the download, but have no idea what is downloading" That is another common concern raised in the windows Beta process and another legitimate answer to my question of why you are confused.
However, if you chose to simply ignore my explanation for why I asked in favor of being "offended", that is your choice brother.

Scott, I don't know you brother, but you can see my explanation above as to the meaning of my question. I don't know why you would assume there was malice in my question, but that was not in my heart. Too bad you chose to put that spin on things.Scott Stackelhouse said:0 -
I can report that using the "Enter" key from the Command bar now works without crashing L4.Tom Philpot said:Other miscellaneous bug fixes.

This proves my point. What I said and I don't know why its hard for you to understand is if you wanted to help (the first time) you could've directed people to the site instead of being smug about it and inserting emotions and silly stuff like that!!!! You did post the link AFTER I asked the question. All you had to do is point people in the right direction but you chose to be smart about it. And obversely Im not the only person that feels that way!!! But whatever "brother"

Sorry, I use the emoticons in a lot of my posts, I did not know you found emoticons personally offensive.Jerry Walker said:being smug about it and inserting emotions and silly stuff like that!!!!
I did post a link in my first response.
I had a legitimate reason for asking the closing question.
I find it regrettable that you choose to not take my word for it, there is not much more I can say.
I wont address you on this issue any longer.
Peace

Only if you were this "humble" in the beginning we wouldn't be here... But whatever Im done!!!!

That's the problem with written communication, isn't it? While I see Joe Miller's question being one to try and find out what is confusing in order to help avoid confusing others in the future, another sees it at sarcasm. Why do we so often err on the side of the negative instead of the positive?
I haven't posted much in these forums, but have gotten a lot from them. I just wanted to take a moment and thank you Joe for your continued help in here.

There is probably no one in the Logos 4 Mac community who does more to help others than Joe Miller. Sometimes he may come across as abrasive, but you soon come to learn that he truly seeks to provide valuable assistance. I honestly appreciate all that he has done—and likely will continue to do—in making L4 both Mac and Windows into a valuable application.

Hmm. Keep in mind that he uses "emoticons" on the first page of this forum post to mock me.

When i have Logos 4 (Alpha 3) running, I don't see anything animated on the Home Page.
When I saw this as a feature, I was excited that we would get a complete (or somewhat complete) Home Page similar to what Windows users can view and interact with. Am I not understanding what this means?
Here is what my Home Page looks like:

I noticed it first thing. Just click onto another pane/view and then press the home icon. The animation is more of a transitional thing between different views. My screen wiped down. It was kinda cool.
