Hebrew mouseovers

Hi everyone,

It would be nice if Logos could do a more concise mouse-over for Hebrew words, or else put the meanings together at the front, along with the parsing. Or make an option? The most frequent use I make of the mouse-over is to get a meaning, and the second-most use is to get the parsing. All the other text (e.g. "Wisdom: Human-to-Human") might be nice, but I don't really use it.

I'm afraid I'm not sure what you're talking about, and since no one has answered you in a week -- which is most unusual -- I'm guessing others aren't sure either. Could you give us a screen shot of what you see? (Use the 'paperclip' to attach it.)

Are you referring to the Information pane? Under Settings on that pane you can control what appears. I also set mine to only respond to "click"

Here is an example, my mouse was over "liphnehem", and notice that the text runs too long, and is trucated at "Divine", and I can't see the meaning of the word ("before them") which would be at the end.1033.sample.docx

I do use the information pane, thanks, I found that after trying to use the mouseovers. I do like the footnote window that appears when you mouseover a footnote in a book, where a box is displayed that you can click on to see the full text, if it overflows the box. Something similar might be useful in the Hebrew.

Lee - I see that you tried to provide a screen shot, but you have not attached it appropriately. Please use the paper clip icon, and attach the image directly to the post (not in a word document).

Ah, I see. The reason I couldn't understand you was that a) you're using different terminology than we normally do here (understandable), b) I normally use BHS (which only has the parsing, so I couldn't remember noticing anything that long before), c) I'm on a Mac (which has the info displayed at the bottom of the window, not in a popup), and d) I never seem to find time to work on my Hebrew...

All I can suggest for now is the Info panel, which has already been mentioned. For the future... hmm... the General forum isn't a good place for this kind of thing, as Logos doesn't read it much. I guess we could consider it a kind of bug, as the text is certainly supposed to be readable, and write a bug report for it. However, now that I know what you're talking about, I have a faint memory of it having been already reported, so I'd like to check that out before starting a new thread, but, frankly, I need to go to bed if I'm going to make it to church tomorrow.

Jack, could you check it out and add this link either to the old thread, if you find one, or to a new bug thread in the PC forum? Otherwise I'll do it tomorrow.

Lee, Everyone responding to this thread is primarily a Mac user. So the L4 Windows forum may get you better assistance

This is a known issue with an active case assigned to it. I've added a link to the new thread about this to the existing case.

And Lee, Jack is correct in his post above that we in QA do not monitor the General forum as often as we do the Logos 4 Windows and Logos 4 Mac forums, so you're more likely to get some response/feedback from us if you post your issues there.
