Join the Faithlife Beta!

Faithlife is a new social platform for connecting Christian communities around the Word. Faithlife isn't about "friending" people; it is designed to connect real-world Christian communities -- churches, small groups, classes, Bible studies, etc. It is complemented by the completely new Faithlife Study Bible.
The Faithlife Study Bible was designed for mobile devices; it's a translation-independent study Bible full of photos, infographics, tables, charts, maps, and in-depth articles. The FSB has reading, sharing, and studying with your Faithlife groups built right in. (And while it was deisgned for tablets like the iPad, it still works in Logos 4 on the desktop and via http://Biblia.com on the web.)
Faithlife is a big, interconnected system that touches all our applications, on desktop, the web, and mobile devices. And because your Logos.com account is also your Faithlife.com account, you're already part of it!
This interconnection makes it hard to keep it a secret until everything is done, though, and parts of the Faithlife system are already live: early releases of the FSB app are in the iOS and Android app stores, and new features are live at Biblia.com, and in Logos 4.5b.
So we're inviting you into the beta, and giving you a coupon code to use the Faithlife Study Bible for free for over a year.
Visit http://faithlifebible.com and use the coupon code FSBForums531
Then log in at http://faithlife.com and find and join your church's group. (Most churches in English-speaking countries should be pre-loaded, though very new churches may be missing from the database.) Be sure to update your Faithlife profile, too!
Faithlife.com is a work in progress, and is missing many important features for supporting groups: event planning, calendar management, document sharing, etc. All of these (and more) are in development and coming soon. But Faithlife is designed for groups, not individuals, so to really use it you need to be part of a community.
You can invite members of your Christian communities to join the beta, too: send them a link to this forum post.
It's important to remember that Faithlife is still in beta, so you might not want to invite your 2,000 person church to join today. But if you're in a smaller group and can explain what "beta" means, by all means please go ahead.
This is a public forum post, but we want to have more features in place before a "public launch." We'd appreciate your keeping discussion of Faithlife here in our forums, not on blogs or twitter, during the beta period.
Things to note:
- Faithlife is in beta; many more features are planned and underway, and we'll soon be putting up a "road map" of upcoming features.
- The Faithlife Study Bible is intentionally designed for people who are NOT existing Logos Bible Software users; it's designed to engage and connect people with the Word and with each other.
- Your feedback is welcome -- please post it here in our forums.
Thanks!
-- Bob

Hmmm ... Logos .... Proclaim ... handhelds ... Faithlife. If I was a pastor, this would be a dream-come-true for a congregation to work together!

Thanks, Bob. When we're tempted to think you folks have bitten off more than can be chewed and we hear about some "wacky" new idea, it always turns out that you're way ahead of us.

Is it possible to have two different avatar’s? 1 for F-life and another for the forums here?

Thanks Lynden!
i got the email receipt for the FSB, but i've logged out of Biblia.com and back in several times. i click on the Bible and see the list of my resources, but when i type in FSB or Faithlife, my resource list box shows 'No Matches'.

I also received 2 receipts, downloaded the iPad app, logged in and got a message that I was not licensed.

John, I had the same experience. 2 receipts (likely because i tried to purchase a second time following the error message), and the app not recognizing me as having a license. Given that this is a beta, i'm going to trust that this is just one of many bugs that will show up and be fixed throughout this process, but i'm hoping it will be a quick fix. I'm eager to dig in and try things out [:)]

At the very least, I feel it is necessary to allow us to have two separate display names...one for the public forums and one for FaithLife. See here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/47290.aspx

Sometime late this morning the resources appeared in Biblia.com.
As i was reviewing the resources i eventually came to the Videos resource. It opened in Biblia.com and showed the loading symbol as shown below. But even after 20 minutes, the symbol is still revolving in the resource (not completed). Are these videos ready for prime-time in Biblia.com?
EDIT: i have highspeed cable for my connections to the net

Hmmmm..... I'm a wee bit peeved that I plunked down $29.95 for FaithLife a little over an hour ago and I find out that it's now in Beta (with a free coupon no less!!) after wondering why it's not working up to speed. This is on top of the fact that I'm a faithful Logos user who has plunked down hundreds upon hundreds of dollars for the Silver Platform and additional books, as well as given a small portion of my bank account to Morris Proctor so he could show me face to face in a conference how to use Logos. I wasn't going to sweat $29.95, but the more I stare at this app which not up to speed the more I get the urge to ask how do I get a refund?????

Concur with suggestion to call Logos => http://www.logos.com/about/contact (seem to remember reading about some phone-in specials that could be discussed along with refund).

I've tried multiple repeated attempts, but have not been able to log in to the iOS app or get anything to download in Logos 4. I had my hopes up for a while though!

The Faithlife Bible iOS App launched for me this morning without the license error. Good news.

I had a coupon code that was emailed to me and when I used it the checkout still showed a $29.95 charge. I called Logos customer service and the gave it to me free right away and I was able to login to the app after a few minutes.

I checked out and it still showed $29.95 charge, on iPad2 I touched the + sign after it then the coupon code was recognized creating a $0.00 charge. Although I have been able to download the App and sign-in I continue to get the Faied to sign-in because no License. Recieved email Receipts, but not able to access the App after multiple attempts to Sign-in.

Open logos 4 on the computer then Faithlife will download to your computer. After that, open the app, at least that is what has worked for me; hope it helps

I went back to Logos on iPad2 to Study and something happened, but I don't remember how it happened. Something appeared that caused me to check Faithlife and voila it works! I think a person just needs to give it a little time...and not expect Instant On! So far what I tried I liked (for Free).

I found the app in my Apple account, but I cannot log on with my Logos password.

Gary you need to go to the first post of this thread, there is a coupon code and link to the site. It will allow you to get the Faithlife StudynBible. Then as you go through the "purchase" process (it's 100% free) you will have to log in to your Logos account. Then you can use yourcLogos account to get it.

I had previously created a FaithLife account, but was unable to sign on and download the book. I had to reset my Logos password to the same password, then I could sign on.

Hey Bob
Love the way this is headed... looks like you got something very special and powerful here.
I have a request about all this.. (oh and thank you by the way for the coupon code and reduced prices on bibles through it).. Would it be possible when you click on a verse that you have an option of posting that verse refrence into the comment in the faithlife social section?
I would like to get my family on this program (and my church too) for bible studies throughout the week and it would be great if an option to make a study note to my own private group (or public) that linked to the verse.
so the verse itself in the bible portion would have some kind of icon like a little social photo (maybe even a tiny avatar of me) (or just a simple default silhouette of a contact) as an indicator that there is a community note on this verse. (possibly only available in the private group idea as it would get crazy in the general commentary of worldwide users.) (maybe even some kind of little tag)
The person in the private group (once again this is my family or church or those enrolled into a certain bible study) would see that the verse has a private note on it for the group. and click on that, it would roll the screen to the right how you guys have it now, and they can read that note and interact with my notes, plus others who have read it and want to respond.
The note itself would have the link in reference (saying "Psalm 24:10 The Lord is good.." as an example) and then following would be my notes, and then of course anyone elses.
Each bible reference note would be contained in its own social grouping window section, this way you do not have 2000 lines of text from all the notes from me, but you will only see the notes and community conversation regarding that specific verse reference at a time.
Im telling you right now if you did this, bible studying would be an incredible experience as my classes could read these pages, interact, and study BEFORE coming to the classes which rarely they do...
I am a bible teacher and also an entrepreneur and I know a good thing when I see it, this is it!!!
I know you have so much to do, please consider my request or some semblance of it as soon as you can, I can see god receiving the glory in this my friends.
Thank you for your hard work.
-Chris

You could also share the verse to the specific Faithlife group noting that there is a note, when the click on it, they should be taken to the correct verse.

thank you for your response. (I am on android if it makes a difference)
I do not see an option to share a note. (share a verse)
How is this done?

Hi Chris,
Welcome to the forums!
I think there is a way to accomplish what you want. Below is what I did to share a community note.
On Faithlife beta I shared a Scripture using the Faithlife Study Bible app alerting people that I created a community note on John 3:16 the verse was hyperlinked and only shared with Faithlife beta. If within the app you click on the verse or the link below it will take you to that reference in your Bible, there they can see and comment on the notes. To see this you will need to join the Faithlife beta group on Faithlife, anyone can join. Hope this helps!
Blessings in Christ,
Philana

Hi All,
Sounds exciting and useful - one question… will it remain free once it's live?

Currently, the coupon code is good for more than a year. It looks like it may be a paid service at some point.

I believe Faithlife will be continue to be free, but the content of the Faithlife Study Bible (Study Notes, Videos, Photos, Infographics, and Lexham Bible Dictionary) will be a subscription for a yearly fee.
