the "instant morphological details" in Logos
I don't know what Logos officially calls what Accordance calls "instant details" i.e. the morphological tags of Greek/Hebrew that appears on the very bottom of my Logos window.
First, this feature is buggy. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It will often be working fine at an initial start up, but after a while, it ceases.
Second, I'm wondering if there is a way to customize what is shown in these details, and if there is a way to customize the order. For instance, in intro Greek Grammars it is pretty standard to teach the order as case, gender, number, lexical form. For verbs: tense, voice, mood, person, number, lexical form. Logos doesn't follow this order, which is fine. But it would be nice to customize it.

ditto. I'm used to it though and just don't pay it any attention, don't use it.
I have everything turned off that I can unless I need to use a particular feature at a particular time so as not to overtax Logos.
I agree it would be nice to change this, toggle it off, so forth and so on.
No need to use up resources on something not in use or not working well. Options would be nice.

Same thing here. I just wish Logos would work like it's supposed to. (That's why I bought a Mac in the first place.)

Amen Dan, Amen. I was told in a recent post that it indeed does work like it's supposed to! smile.
FWIW turning off things one does not need and/or use regularly does help a little.

That is the most up to date stable release (4.5b SR-3). Thanks. [:)]
I have a theory that this issue is related to changes made in preparation for 4.5c. Did anyone notice this issue before 4.5b?

No this has been happening since I got logos

Hi Danny,
Can you please attach a screenshot of the issue? It's hard to determine what might be happening without more information about the chapter/verse, etc. Thanks!

Hi Danny, and all,
I have the same problem. I have two layouts, one Hebrew and one Greek. I use BHS 4.2 w/ morphological for the Hebrew. I also use the NA27 w/ morphological for the Greek. The bottom translation info 3ms Qal WAYYQTL etc, etc,....disappears after a short period. It has something to do with the latest update because it didn't happen before.
Any help Logos would be much appreciated!

Hi Ben,
Logs and a screenshot displaying the bible, and exact word would be very helpful for us. Here is a link detailing how to log the session. http://www.logos.com/support/windows/L4/logging
Thank you.

Hi Tommy,
I am having a hard time finding a log file. Any advice where it should be? The the thread you liked says it should be under "documents". Is that the documents from "Mac HD, to user, then documents?
I am thinking it is disabled. So I will work on that right away. Also, I did just duplicate the error. I loaded my Hebrew layout again. I minimized the screen to read your post. The morphological tags were gone when i maximized it. They were there before I minimized.

Sorry Ben, I gave you the wrong instructions. The mac Logs will be in the Logos 4 folder called "Logging"
Try these: http://www.logos.com/support/mac/L4/Logging

Hi Tommy,
This is the first time getting through all this. I may missed a step or two.
I should have everything I hope. The archive.zip file is there. For the screenshots, I am giving you the before and after of each layout I have in Hebrew and Greek. I also added one of the LXX (Septuagint) which I have in my Hebrew layout, to show it effects the greek or the hebrew in one layout.
Archive 44857.Archive.zip
Before Screenshots
After
LXX w/n Hebrew Layout (still after minimized screen)
Let me know what else I can add here. Could you send an e-mail along so I know if and when the bug is fixed?
Thanks,
Ben

That isn't going to happen, but they might post something here, and if you click the Email me when someone replies link on top of the first post you'll be notified. You should also click More > Edit and remove your e-mail, unless you love getting your inbox filled with spam.

Hmm, I didn't realize Grab does not include the location of the mouse in the screen grabs. Can you Ben, or someone else, please give me steps to reproduce? I need steps down to the word so I can see what words it works with and what words it doesn't work with.
Thank you.

Hi Tommy,
The steps are real easy.
1) Click on the layout
2) highlight any verbal form, i.e. from finite to imperative to infinitive. The morphological tag shows. When I captured the screen shots, the mouse was over the first verb of Genesis 46:1. This is the orange word right next to 46:1.
3) I minimized it.
4) Then I maximized it.
5) I moved the mouse over the first verb as in step 2. Nothing!

I can reproduce this. I'll check to see if there is a case about this and if not send it over.

- PC Morphology pop-ups appear after minimizing application, but Mac no longer displays pop-ups

This issue should be resolved in 4.6 Beta 2 for beta users, and in general when 4.6 ships to the stable channel.

Avoiding the problem by never closing logos. if i just minimize, the parsing shows. but as soon as I close the window, the functions shuts off, and I have to restart logos.
