What does v2 sync mean?
Logos has been working on creating a more "robust" sync infrastructure. "v2" just means "version 2" (i.e. the "new" one).

I have entered Update Now and keep getting the message "No Update Available." My current version is 4.6 SR-2 (4.60.0.3010) so L4 did not update when I was not paying attention. Any ideas? Thank you and Lord bless!

Have you tried closing and restarting Logos and then doing Update Now?

I am having the same difficulty on my desktop. My laptop updated last night with no problem, but I have shut down and restarted my desktop twice this morning and did "update now" several times with no success.

For those having problems, have you tried the installer link mentioned in the first post? ->

They've pulled the Mac version due to crashes. It's possible they've decided to pull the Windows version as well.

Wow - follow instructions? That's a novel idea! I forgot that the link was there. I need to be away from my computer for awhile, but will try that later. Thanks for pointing out the obvious to those of us who don't see it.Todd Phillips said:For those having problems, have you tried the installer link mentioned in the first post? ->

LOL Yes, it is a novel idea to follow instructions! I too should have caught that. I had restarted L4 and it did not download. I have not downloaded it from the link that was provided. I may try that later when I have some free time.
Thanks to everyone for their response!

Was able to get back to my computer and the link worked fine. Not sure why it would not update otherwise, but I'm a happy camper! [:D]

The reason that it wouldn't work through the normal 'UPDATE NOW' feature is that this release is technically a beta release. Albeit, a stable one. So if you're upgrade path isn't set in the application to BETA, then UPDATE NOW wouldn't find the update. Therefore the link.

Are you sure Tom? The notice here is for 4.6a available for download. The RC notice was yesterday or so. This is not the way it has worked in the past...

That wouldn't make sense as it automatically updated on my laptop, just not my desktop.

Did you verify that your L4 is indeed version 4.6a? I tried the link and downloaded the setup file, but was not able to update from 4.6 SR2 to 4.6a. I think this is the first time I have had trouble with a L4 program update. Hopefully, Logos can resolve these issues soon.

I just tried to update mine following all the afore mentioned techniques, i.e., restarting Logos, running "update now" and what I got when I tried the link was, "Logos us up to date." When I check my version it still shows the previous version and not 4.6a. So, I am "content" to have a less than optimized program temporarily....[|-)]
Seriously, I did try all of the techniques and so far nothing, but I am content with Logos.

Hi Bill,
I experienced the same. When Logos released the 4.6a update yesterday, I was able to automatically update the program on one computer. However, later that day (and today), I was not able to update the program on another computer. I tried the 3 methods, still no update.

The link did work for me today and it did update to 4.6a

Finally was able to download and run...but it was the updated 4.6a SR-1 [:D]. So far everything works and looks good!

Unless I am missing something, this is a poor substitute for the Sermon File capability in Logos 3. It lacks the easy interface. It does not add new sermons to the book of my sermons created in Logos 3, and it does not synchronize to my sermons on logos.com. Please tell me this is not all you can do after almost three years. If it is, it makes me extremely reluctant to upgrade to Logos 5. Will I have to wait months and years to get in Logos 5 what I already have in 3 or 4?

Yeah I'm not really into it either. According to the MVP it seems that what we now have for it in L4 through PBB is here to stay.
L3 was so much easier and I only got to use it for a couple of sermons

I agree L3 was and is easier I just wonder,(if this is how it is gonna be) what should i do to integrate the 100-250 or so sermons I have into the new PBB style or should I just leave them well enough alone.

While I have similar questions and concerns, I did find this which helped a bit:
http://community.logos.com/forums/p/37157/410162.aspx#410162 - link to a post with macros (and a video) for Word 2010 to help in creating sermon files (there are also links for Word 2007 and 2003 if you search a little)
My question now is, even with those macros, when I add a new "sermon book", it shows up as whatever I enter it as, i.e. a Monograph, or a Bible Note, or whatever, not as a new "Sermon" file type. With the headers that the macros create, it looks as if there should be a "Sermon" file type. Why isn't there and/or why doesn't it show up?

I'm also wondering how the personal book builder helps us with our sermons when the PBB files aren't available in the mobile devices. I can file them in Logos but they fail to show up where I need them most: on my Ipad right next to the text I'm preaching for a given service. It seems to me that the Logos software engineers have several good possibilities available to make Logos a terrific tool, not just for writing the sermons, but for filing them and then preaching from those files on a mobile device. So far, however, none of those methods seems to be taking shape. For all of the terrific tools available, the link between those tools and the actual preaching event still seems like a mere dream. So close and yet . . . .
