How can I search for this?

It's my understanding that the early Christians recognized the warnings that Jesus gave them in Matthew 24 and the Christians were able to escape to the hills.
My question:
How could I search to find out if any of the early church fathers write about this event?
Thanks,

Depending on your library, how about searching for "Pella," the city that they fled to?

Another option is to create a collection of your ECF volumes, then open the cited by tool and enter Matt 24. That should be a good starting point. It is the same as running a verse search for Mat 24 on the ECF collection if you prefer that. You can modify the search if there are too many results with words or phases.

Interesting. I always thought it was Petra (in Jordan) that they'd fled to (one can see why that misconception took hold -- Petra has great dwellings to hide in, carved into the hills). But apparently it was not Petra but Pella (the two places are easily confused because of their similar names). Pella has been largely unexcavated. It would be fascinating to find out what they discover there someday once it can be excavated...

If I recall correctly they have discovered what they claim to be the oldest known Christian Church in the vicinity of Pella.

I'd not heard about Pella. I try that along with the other ideas.
Thanks,

Here's one more idea: For a starting point, if you have the Catena Aurea (or the ACCS commentaries), you can search for Matthew 24:15-22 in those two resources. (logosres:cataur61mt;ref=Bible.Mt24.15-22)
