highlighting

hello everyone. i have been writing a paper on the extent of the atonement. i have highlighted numerious books for my paper. now that i have finished, is there a way that i can erase the highlighting all at once from every book, or do i have to go through it one highlight at a time? thank you

Deleting the highlights is a "one/few at a time" activity as far as I know. If you select a portion of text and then click on the "Erase" button at the top of the highlighting palette you will erase all highlights in the selected area. But there is no easy way - that I have found - to highlight the complete contents of a book.

However, stopping them displaying may be slightly easier depending on how you have managed the highlighting. Highlights are stored in notesfiles and whether or not they are displayed can be toggled using visual filters. Have a look at the article at http://wiki.logos.com/Finding_Highlighted_Text#Text_that_you_have_highlighted_with_Visual_Filters and particularly the section "finding all specific highlighted text in a resource".

This shows you which notesfile (and hence visual filters) have been used and you can toggle the display off so they aren't seen.

If that isn't sufficient it also gives you a mechanism to find them to - hopefully - speed up the process of removing them.

In the future, if you begin a project like this, I suggest you direct all such highlights to a specially created file. That way you can simply delete the whole file when you're finished. Or turn it off under the Visual Filters menu.

BUG: Selecting text lists a number of ways that should work to select text. Some of them even did once, and might still work on PC.
