Copying into Notes
Small issue. Whenever i copy material from a resource into a note, the font of the text becomes a grey shade and not black. I prefer to read the notes in a black font. inorder to do that i must then select all and change the font back to black. It is a minor irratation, but one none-the-less. Is there a settting or fix for this, or do i need to put up with this issue?

Hi Gerald
Sounds similar to the issue discussed at http://community.logos.com/forums/t/63492.aspx (where the conclusion was that there was no setting to change it)
Logos didn't comment on that thread - hopefully they will do so on this one!

I believe this was by design, to help differentiate between the Title and the Content of each note. I'm not able to find any settings that allow us to control this on the user-level without changing the font color while typing the note (per-note).
Because this is a design decision and not a "bug", it may be a good thing to bring up on the User Voice page. If there are a lot of users who voice their opinion here, I'm sure it will be looked into changing.

Hi Mike
Thanks for the response - but I don't think I understand it!
Take the notesfile below which I have been working on today
When you refer to differentiating between the Title and the Content do you mean the Content as shown in the red box (which you get with a "Compact" note), the Content as shown in the blue box (which you get with a "Full" note) or both?
- If the content in the red box then we get back to the strange (at least to me and I know discussed elsewhere) the strange decision to include the content of notes in abbreviated form next to the title
- If the content in the blue box then it is clear from its placement that it is separate from the title (which also has an icon associated with it).
So I really don't understand. Could you expand a little further please?
Thanks, Graham

I wonder if this is a PC only issue. My notes are always BLACK by default.
Sorry to ask this but can you doublecheck?[:$]
In the thread which I referenced you will see that it was a surprise to find the text was actually grey!

Sure. No problem [:)]
I do have a theory, however. The copy & paste method seems to carry over some formatting. Is it possible that these resources have a grey text? See Here:

Thanks Alabama
it could be a resource formatting issue, but interesting when you type notes they come out black by default

Alabama, can you confirm your screens while viewing the notes in Compact view?

Graham,
The red and blue boxes in your screenshot are both "Content". The difference is which note is active, since you are viewing them in Compact mode. To Clarify from your screenshot, "Appointing the twelve (Mk 3:13-19)" is the title to the red boxed note. Compact view compresses your notes into a single line and abbreviates the Content after the Title if there is room, until a note is selected.
Alabama, you are right. The charcoal color seems to be unique to Windows. When viewing the same notes on Mac, the text is black. I'll file a report and indicate that black text seems to be preferred. Thanks for the tip.

Hi Mike - thanks for the response

Absolutely.
My point was that when the content is below the title (as in Full mode) it is easier to distinguish between them as they are on separate lines and the title has an icon associated with it
When the content is following the title (as in compact mode) I agree it is less clear but I have never really understood why content is shown there anyway!

Thank you - appreciated

DISSENT! DISSENT!
I prefer having the text not in focus being grayed out - to darken it would hide the break between the title and the contents.

it helps me to distinguish between multiple notes attached to the same verse.

This issue will be fixed for 5.1 Beta 2 for beta users, and in general when 5.1 ships to the stable channel.
The fix affects the actual color of the text. It does not affect the behavior of inactive notes shading the 'Content' text grey when in Compact view.0 -
Thanks Tonya
This is good news
