Hi all and thank you so long for your help.

I need to install my Logos 5 on a new HDD. But, I have made a backup to an external drive. I have download the logos 5 setup file and signed in. But, I don't get a chance to choose to work offline. After I have signed in I get a message that it is downloading 6.5 Gig of data. Is there another way so I can use my backed up info. I have copied the Documents & Data folders from the backup to the new installation but it still chooses to download the data.

Thank you.

Hi Deon

Have you looked at the article at http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers?

In particular, note that you need to uncheck "automatically download updates" during the installation process

Hope this helps

You are very welcome - good to get that sorted.

Graham, one last thing. It doesn't seem that Logos 5 recognizes the scan command. I am pointing to the exact location of my backed up Logos but it does nothing. At this stage it is downloading 4.8 GB of data even though I have not selected to do this.

I have this in die command box:

scan J:\backups\C\Users\myname\AppData\Local\Logos4\

Scan should work - but it does require Logos to be stopped and restarted before executing the Scan command (this allows you to "stack up" scans and then they are all executed in a batch).

Did you stop / restart?

Hi Graham and thank you once again for your reply.

Yes, I have stopped and re-started Logos5. I then entered this in the command box:

SCAN j:/backups/c/users/deon/appdata/logos4/

It then searches my library for this. It is as if Logos does not want to use the scan command.

Any other suggestions I can try?

The re-starting refers to after you input the command, not before.

this shouldn't be the case, since it means the parser didn't detect it. I seem to remember a more or less recent thread about this. Type Scan and wait for it to auto-suggest things like Scan DVD, then paste the path.

I think you are right - effectively it is not recognising the path you are specifying (it checks this as you are entering it)

Are you on Windows or Mac?

On Windows the "/" symbol should be replaced with "\"

I have just read the help on this and had to change / to \. I also forgot to put "Local" in as part of the path. Everything now in place and still no luck.

I am on Windows 7. I'm going to try another 2 or 3 times and then download the 3 GB of data. I need to use Logos. :)

Thank you for your help.

Graham.

I have changed the slash from / to \ which is right. I also added Local to the path which I have forgotten. It now does recognise it as a command but does nothing. I am going to try a couple of times more and then just download the 3GB of data.

Thank you for your help. Deon

Did you check the thread referenced by me above?

Did you compare the screenshot with what you're seeing?

Does Logos recognize Scan DVD as a valid command? (if so, as a last resort you could burn the 3 g to a DVD and scan this)

Can you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

HI Deon

Deon Holtzhausen:

Just to re-emphasise one of the things which Mick said earlier.

You need to enter the Scan command and then stop / restart Logos.

I just left Win 8 and returned to Win 7.

Reinstalling L5 and 15+ GB of Resources was a snap using the Scan command (http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_4_Commands).
