Is there a way to do a simple verse search and export ONLY the references (not the verses themselves) into a personal note?

Yes. Create a Passage List after doing the search (look in the Search menu for the function). If you view the List "compacted" you get only the references and can copy/paste into a Note.

Thanks for the reply Dave. I am struggling with this on a Mac however. Does it work differently on a Mac?

I just tried following Dave's instructions... however, I cant see any way to copy the references from the passage list in compact view.

OK. I found a way, but it isn't eligant. Go to print the list in compact view, in the print preview, copy the references.
When I pasted them, there were "artifacts" as you can see here:

How did you copy the references? Did you use the print method, or did you find a better way?

Once my search was completed ("new song" which gave 19 hits) I simply clicked on the magnifying glass in the search tab and when the dialog box opened I chose "save as passage list". I opted for compact view and did a "command C" (copy) and then went to my personal note and placed the curser and hit "command V" (paste).
The only glitch I had was although I selected "compact in the search tab I still got the reference and the verse but at least I got it! I will fine tune later!

The cleanest result I got was to Print/Export the compacted Passage List and then use Copy to clipboard. No artifacts.

Is it possible on PC to:
- click>shift-click (or Ctrl-A) to select all references in Compact view, and then either
- right-click>Copy, or
- use Ctrl-C to copy?
Because when I try these on Mac, 2) deselects the list, so that I can only copy one reference, and 3) copies the Full list, with verses.
I would say that the fact that Cmd-C and right-click>Copy do different things must definitely be a bug, but I would assume both 2) and 3) to also be bugs, so before I report it, it would be interesting to know how it works (or doesn't work..) in Windows.

Yes. 2. and 3. will Copy the list.
