Bug: Another one or two for Active Layout

First bug:

  1. Save an old snapshot as Study
  2. Ensure Study is the Active Layout
  3. Set Logos to open to the specific layout, Study
  4. Change the layout so it is noticeably different
  5. Close & Restart Logos
  6. Note that the layout named Study is loaded; which isn't quite what I wanted, so:
  7. Save the Application Closed layout (most recent) as Study
  8. Close & restart Logos
  9. Note that the original (older) Study layout is loaded
  10. Now click Study under Named Layouts on LHS
  11. Note that the most recent Study layout is loaded

Now here's the other:

  1. Rename Study on the LHS
  2. Note it is still ticked.
  3. Note that both Study layouts on RHS are renamed accordingly.
  4. But note that the layout name in the Window is still Study!

And Yet another:

Once the above has been fixed:

  1. delete the older Study layout
  2. close and restart Logos
  3. Note that a BLANK layout is loaded as Study (rather than the remaining Study layout).

11, 10, 9, 8, 7 , 6, 5, 4, 1... I love active layout[:P]

Getting out of this BLANK layout has not proven easy. When I checked Settings, it had been changed to Load HOME.

I deleted all Study layouts on RHS then used most recent App Closed as the new layout, and renamed its snapshot as Study; which seemed to update everything nicely with Study as Active. Made sure Settings was right and restarted to yet another BLANK layout with Settings once again stating HOME!

So I reset an actual Study layout as active, changed Settings to "Most recent Local" and things are back to normal.

Thank you for doing all these tests, Dave. Hopefully they will save some of us at least some unwanted experiences in the future. If nothing else, you're teaching me to be very careful with what I do with my layouts...

It was real life, unfortunately! I just made sure the situation could be reproduced.

Ouch! Well, if you were someone else, I'd recommend you to do what I just said I'd try to do myself: be very careful with what you do with your layouts -- but since you are who you are, and since, sooner or later, others will do the same things, I'm glad it's you who are doing them, and the sooner the better.[:D] You know better than anyone how to minimize the damage for yourself, plus you report things, to minimize the damage for the rest of us.[*]

The bug(s) are reproducible in 5.0b.

When going through the steps have the Settings window as part of the new Study layout and watch the Layout option. Also watch the Layouts menu for Active being ticked as well as the title in the main window.

    First bug:

[.....] Note that the original (older) Study layout is loaded

I am able to reproduce this issue and will report it to Development.

    Now here's the other:

    1. Rename Study on the LHS
    2. Note it is still ticked.
    3. Note that both Study layouts on RHS are renamed accordingly.
    4. But note that the layout name in the Window is still Study!

This was fixed in 5.1 Beta 2.

    And Yet another:

Once the above has been fixed:

    1. delete the older Study layout
    2. close and restart Logos
    3. Note that a BLANK layout is loaded as Study (rather than the remaining Study layout).

Fixed in Beta 5, BUT the Program Setting has changed from opening Study to opening Blank layout.

Fixed, thanks (Startup layout name now reflects the new layout name).
