Also, it would also be nice to be able to exclude collections from showing here, perhaps with a checkbox in the collections window. That way I could keep my "All except..." collections from showing up.

Can we get the collections listed in the info pane to be sorted alphabetically?
I've filed a bug for this.

This will be fixed in 5.1 Beta 7.

How do you know its a quick turnaround. Kelly never told you when b7 is being released. [:P] (Hopefully soon! [:)])

While you're at fixing sorts around the collection tool: The alphabetic sort in the "minus this resources" seems to break down after adding more than 24 items: those more are simply put behind (which isn't easy to recognize since the non-expandable field shows only six resources / subcollections at a time)

I am not able to replicate that the 'Minus These Resources' field alphabetizes the first 24 items. However, I will put a case through to development to look into alphabetizing this field.

They never say this bug will be fixed in such-and-such upcoming release unless they've fixed it internally already, otherwise they wouldn't know for sure that it even could be fixed or how hard it would be, whether maybe it should be put off until a later major release. Sure, they might do more fixes and add more features before releasing this next beta, but I don't care. I'm just glad to see it when a bug that's reported on the forums is reported fixed already within two weeks. That is a trend I'm starting to see emerge which we never saw before in the past, and I'm encouraging it whenever I see it. I now might think it's worth my while to go back through all the backlog of bugs I've reported that never got fixed and report them again and see if I get such fast turnaround this time. [:)]

I apologize, I responded too hastily in my initial post. I was not able to replicate that it is only 24 resources that alphabetize on Windows. It seems that all of the resources I add to the 'Minus these resources' list will alphabetize. From the screen shot, it appears as though you may have been moving collections into the list rather than individual resources, does the behavior occur for you when you add more than 24 individual resources or just when you add more than 24 collections or a mix of the two?

Really? I took this for granted, and actually it works.
This screenshot from another collection I created under current beta shows more detail:
(double click on it if it's not visible, it seems the forum software doesn't like png today)
I know for sure that I put in the D.o.I. and the Constitution after the Denver Seminary List and that the plus field sorted them in. The sort is not case sensitive and it disregards leading "The".
For test reasons I looked up a resource beginning with "Da" and dropped it into the field (not where it would belong if sorted) and it was added into the sort order.
EDIT: it seems this was the wrong picture - here is the correct one:
[/EDIT]
However, this seems to be weird. The other collection had only subcollections in the "minus" field, and my current collection only resources in the "plus". When I started to mix collections and resources, the collections were put to the top of the list, but seemingly in reverse sort order:
- but this reverse order was broken when I added another, older collection "fiction" which was but behind the other ones. So maybe collections are sorted by an internal number or date or whatever (the *-collections were created in alphabetical order based on another thread)? I need to check then if sort of resources breaks down after 24 or this was a weird artifact somehow...

Same here. Resources sort alphabetically (irrespective of case and the leading "The"), even if there are more than 24 of them and regardless whether collections are there on the minus-list.

Maybe I just tricked myself by adding alphabetically sorted collections in the right order, or Logos just is weird now, but my tests seem to indicate that collections are not sorted at all, but simply put before the resources and new one at the end of this section. Since you won't see what you do after the first six, maybe my interpretation that 24 were right was simply wrong.
Hm. I'd like them sorted better.

I was just razzing you Rosie. It was indeed a "quick turnaround."
Well, since you're about to roll over that 11,000 milestone, I'll let you get away with it this time. [:)]

I will send a case to Development for investigation. Thank you!
