BUG: Printing Bible references
When printing pages the Bible's references are marked with asterisk. For some books or pages there are footnotes for those asterisks with the title's abbreviation of the Book of the Bible and corresponding division. Unfortunately for some books (e.g. S. Cyril of Alexandria. Commentary on the Gospel According to S. John, Volume 1. Oxford; London: James Parker & Co.; Rivingtons, 1874.) there are no references at all - just pure asterisks with no footnotes.
Could you help please. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles. [:S]
I don't think I have the resource you referenced… so it was difficult for me to try and replicate. Can you give us some more info? What OS are you running? How are you printing? Can you give screen shots?

Thank you for your prompt response. I'm using Logos Bible Software 5.0b SR-3 (5.0.2.0752) on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
This is "Print/Export..." from "S. Cyril of Alexandria. The Three Epistles of S. Cyril, Archbishop of Alexandria: English Text. Edited by P. E. Pusey. Oxford; London: James Parker and Co., 1872." book. The Bible references work fine (personally I prefer short references in-line with text) .
The second one is from "Cyril of Alexandria. Commentary on the Gospel According to S. John, Volume 1. Oxford; London: James Parker & Co.; Rivingtons, 1874." There are no footnotes for Bible references (see asterisks).
Best Regards,
Vladimir

Also I found in Logos 5 manual the following description of left "Print/Export" panel. There is no "Visible results only" and "Print as exported" check boxes at all.
- Main Print/Export components:
- Left side:
- Margins – Choose from Normal, Narrow, Moderate, or Wide margins.
- Some features include a WYSIWYG printing option on the left: “Print as shown on screen.” Where that is available, there will also be the alternate option to “Print as exported.”
- Some panels, such as Sentence Diagram documents, include a “Fit to page” checkbox on the left.
- Search panels include a “Visible results only” checkbox on the left, which is checked by default. When unchecked with “Print as exported” selected, collapsed results will be expanded in the preview.

Vladimir, this seems a lot like a bug in the resource logosres:johncyril01 (actually in both of Cyril's John Commentary resources), where footnotes indicated by asterisk do not appear on the page to be printed.
I see this in the latest beta as well. But since the epistles-resource can print the asterisk footnotes, the bug seems to be in the resource rather than in Logos.
However, in both resources an export to Word does not recognize the asterisks/stars as footnote markers and the footnotes are lost. Can you verify this for your stable release as well?
You may want to edit you forum post title to "BUG: ..."

Hi NB.Mick,
Thanks a lot. I verified "Save as file: Rich Text Format (Word, etc.)" and "Send to new document: Microsoft Word". Both export functions ignore Bible references - just pure asterisk left. I have such an issue with all 6 volumes of St. Cyril of Alexandria (https://www.logos.com/product/9623/works-of-st-cyril-of-alexandria). But reading view references work fine.
Best regards,
Vladimir

Vladimir,
it seems the Logos people roaming this forum overlooked the thread. I'll make a cross-posting to the Beta forum which may help to give additional insight into this bug.

It is, and I have reported it.

This is a different issue that I've asked a developer to look into.

Thanks a lot, Bradley and NB.Mick,
I very appreciate your help. Sorry for my delay.
I'm novice in Logos system. Regarding resources' issue what you would suggest for me: waiting for update or write to customer support.
Best regards,
Vladimir

This is the same issue that has been reported here: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/65341.aspx
I have responded in that thread.

Unfortunately, Customer Support can't help much with this (other than re-report the problem, which we already know about now). Please wait for an update to the program (to fix copying to Word) and an update to the resources (to fix footnotes displayed on screen).

Thanks a lot for your support Brisa and Bradley,
I will wait version 5.1 with hope. I bought more books with same printing/export issue. What is interesting 3 volumes of "Neale, J. M. A Commentary on the Psalms" have such a issue, but 4th volume is printing fine.
Best regards,
Vladimir

We ended up deciding that this was a program bug, not a resource bug; it will be fixed in the next version.
