Bug: Notes with Hebrew words still not displaying correctly in Beta 7
In MS Word, the notes are as follows:
The Hebrew verb form for "terrify" חתת is found 21 times in Jeremiah, which is far more often than in any other OT book. Next is Isaiah with 12 occurences. It this verse, it is found twice, in a passive and then in an active form. A similar construction to "terrify you before them" is found in Jer 49:37. Jeremiah is told not to fear the people, because if he does, he will have good reason to fear the wrath of God. Matt 10:28 is a good parallel.
Their rejection of the Lord is both evil and bitter. Evil רע is found 123 times in Jeremiah with this meaning, and more often than in any other OT book. But it is not only wrong; it is painful and distressing for them. Their punishment is making it clear that there are no advantages in rejecting the LORD.
In the latest beta, this is what they look like. No change from the previous beta.

I copied your text above into Word 2007 and then into a Note with no problems. Are you saying that you copied it from Word 20?? to a Note in Beta 7 and got the above result?

Appears to work correctly from Word 2011 Mac into 5.1 Beta 7 Mac
Note, however, that the forum software is still a mess. The screenshot is jpeg and it took a double CR to get below the attachment.
I see the screenshot finally showed up [:@]

Ken, could you upload the word documents that you're pasting from? Thanks!

Haven't been north of that line in years. did get close the other week. Went to Baltimore to meet a grandson returning from Afghanistan.

Dave, actually what I did was copy from a note that I had written a long time ago (in Logos 4?) but was now displaying incorrectly in the new editor in the beta version. I copied from the note into Word 2010 where it looks fine, and then back into a note, where it appears as in the screen shot.

Toby, here is the Word document that produces the strange results in Hebrew. By the way, I did some experimenting, and I found out that if I copied the text, and repasted it as unformatted text, then copied the unformatted text and pasted it into Logos, the note appears correctly. 5808.Hebrew in notes.docx

Ken, this sounds as if the word document (which is in reality an XML-file with lots of formatting tags around the bit of text) is in itself weird, but the geniuses at Microsoft made their display engine overcome the weirdness in the data and make it look and behave nicely. I think it will help the Logos developers if you could attach the Word document to a post for them to explore.
EDIT: just disregard, I see you already posted it while I was typing. Thanks!

That may be true about Word, NB.Mick, But the problem originally was in Logos. The note displayed correctly before I installed the beta with the rich text editor. I just used Word for copying and pasting to make sure that the content of the note was still there.

One further clarification. If I copy the note from Logos into a simple text editor (Notepad), it displays correctly in the text editor. Then if I copy the text from Notepad into Logos, I get what you see in the screen shot. Every thing up to the first word after the Hebrew text is missing, and the text is not word wrapped.

Yes, the first betas with the new editor were less than satisfying, even for the users that aren't into Hebrew.
So, if I understand this right, Logos produced garbage in your notes, you transferred it to Word which managed to display it nicely nevertheless, and you then transferred this nicely displaying stuff (and many users will insist, if it displays nicely enough for them in Word it is okay!) into the L5 beta notes and they misbehaved. I just wanted to make sure that Logos gets the chance to look into the second part of the issue.
Have joy in the Lord!

This might be a great example of when it would be helpful to share your note with a developer:

Alan, I tried to message you but could not figure out how or else you did not receive my message. I tried this suggestion, but could not figure out how to join your group.

Ken, thank you for your patience. I've made the group public for the time being until I can get to the bottom of the issue with email invites.

OK, I have uploaded the notes that are having troubles with Hebrew. Unfortunately for me, on your website (documents.logos.com), the notes are perfectly displayed.

Dave, did you try to collapsing the note (in compact mode) after pasting it from Word? The text appears normal in full mode, but after I collapse it, it no longer shows the first part of the note and word wrapping is gone.

Now that I have returned to the note what I see resembles your screenshot and description. This is quite serious.
It is displayed correctly in my Logos 5.0b installation, though. The new editor still hasn't come to terms with mixed direction text.
