Does anyone know of a Logos book that provides a good introduction to the Gospels as a group? I have lots of works that discuss the Gospels individually, but I am looking for a broader view that compares and contrasts each Gospel.

How about http://www.logos.com/product/30394/the-messages-of-the-books ?

Has anyone read this work or know anything about it?

Kevin, I don't know anything about this book, however Jesus and the Gospels: An Introduction and Survey (2nd ed.) by Craig Blomberg might be worth checking out.  It leaves pre-pub on 13 June 2013:

Here's the promotional blurb for the book:

This second edition of Jesus and the Gospels prepares readers for an intensive study of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and the events they narrate. Craig Blomberg considers the historical context of the Gospels and sheds light on the confusing interpretations brought forth over the last two centuries. This updated version, factoring in new scholarship, debate, critical methods, and the ongoing quest of the historical Jesus, ensures that the work will remain a top tool for exploring the life of Christ through the first four books of the New Testament.

[EDIT - I re-read your OP and this book may not compare and contrast the gospels like you hoped - but it still looks interesting! Big Smile]

I haven't read this book, however wasn't this the resource Logos gave away free as part of its promotion / opportunity for people to experiment with Community Pricing?

There's A W Pink's Why Four Gospels?

It's old, but still good, and inexpensive too.

I have that book and I have read it. It is excellent. I should have been clearer in my original post, I am looking for a briefer treatment. I'm trying to prepare an overview for my church and I was looking for a resource to help me back up from all the data and get a broader overview. Thanks for the recommendation.

Yes it was. I have it in Logos thanks to the promotion. I am reading it now and it is very well written. I believe it may be what I am looking for.

I have that book. I skimmed through it. There are no page numbers, but it appears to be very short. Perhaps it was originally a pamphlet or something. I appreciate you pointing it out. I'm going to start reading it and see if this is what I am looking for.

I highly recommend "Four Portraits One Jesus."

We used it in the NT1 class I took last summer.
