I'm reworking a PBB in which I have been linking the internal references to books I own.  In this case, some of the ancient sources are mentioned which are a part of the Perseus collection.  Instead of just "resource links" to one specific page in a book, when possible I have been using "data links" which can be read across a number of resources if supported.  I've run across a particular set of "data links" which is not being read when I compile the resource.  In this case, it is any "data link" in Siculus Diodorus' resources (there are 3 vols. included in the Perseus collections).

I have compiled other "data links" with success; however, this is the first that keeps failing.  Here what the two data links look like that I've been trying to use:

         Diodorus$5Fsiculus:D. S., Hist. 1.36.9

        Diodorus$5Fsiculus:D. S., Hist. 16.80.3

I have followed the instructions from the Wiki page to a tee.

http://wiki.logos.com/Finding_the_right_datatype_name_and_reference

There are no problems with the rest of the milestone i.e. [[random >> datatype:ref]].  All of the other milestones using this method have worked fine (around 20 so far).  I do notice, however, that the "data link" doesn't seem clean. None of the other "data links" contained random numbers or letters that I noticed (i.e. the "$5F" in the author's name).  So I also tried deleting these characters and using a capital "S" making the "data link" match the general format reading:

       DiodorusSiculus:D. S., Hist. 1.36.9

       DiodorusSiculus:D. S., Hist. 16.80.3

This doesn't work either.  Could use some help on this one please

Yeah - the wiki is not quite complete.  Try replacing the "$5F" with the underscore "_".

Jeremy Korodaj:

These are special codes that replace characters that are invalid in URLs. As Ken says, $5F is the code for an underscore character. If you need to know more characters, use http://urldecode.org, but replace the $ with a % (so, in this case, %5F). I'll update the Wiki with the instructions.

Thanks guys.  Worked out well.  Just replaced the "$5F" with the underscore "_" and it recompiled with no problems with the working data link.

I worked out Diodorus Siculus fine but I would like to add my own translation of Arrian's Anabasis. I cannot for the life of me work out what the milestone should be. This is what I have tried but it won't compile:

[[@Arrianus.Arr.,_Anab._1.1.1]]

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't tried it, but based on things I have done, I suspect you need to remove the underscores...

Yeah, sorry I should have said that I tried that but it doesn't work either.

You need a colon after the name of the datatype and not just a period - eg. [[@Arrianus:Arr., Anab. 1.1.1]]

Thanks, that fixed it.
