When I search for ἀποκάλυψις in NA27 I find 17 occurrences. When I search for it in NA28, I find 18. Rom 16:25 is returned as a search with NA28 but not with NA27. Any thoughts as to why? The text of that verse is the same in both editions.

Hi Michael,

Welcome to the forums! First, I will confess to you I am the least able to answer your question. However I trust I will start the ball rolling for others more capable than myself.

My suspicion as to why you are getting a variation in the results relates to how you are forming your query. If you search for the lemma of the lexical form of the feminine noun which is its' nominative singular form using a Morph search you will return 18 hits for both the NA27 and the NA28.

I think you may have set the query as a Bible search, perhaps Embarrassed. I will give you a screenshot showing how I searched using the Morph query. I searched in a collection I made with the NA27 and the NA28 with Logos Greek Morphology.

If this has been helpful let me know. I don't like confusing people or giving misinformation.

Meanwhile, Jesus kept on growing wiser and more mature, and in favor with God and his fellow man.

International Standard Version. (2011). (Lk 2:52). Yorba Linda, CA: ISV Foundation.

Thank you for your interaction on this question. I have tried the search for ἀποκάλυψις two ways in NA27:

  • right click on the word, select lemma, then search this resource.
  • morph search with « lemma:ἀποκάλυψις » as the term.

Both searches return 17 hits in NA27 (without Romans 16:25) and 18 hits in NA28 (with Romans 16:25). What else could be the issue?

check your version of NA27 and NA27 Int from Resource Info:-

NA27 - LLS:LOGOSNA27  2013-04-16T14:21:35Z

NA27 Int - LLS:LOGOSNA27INT  2012-10-31T22:23:22Z  --> you should get 18 hits if you have this resource

If your versions are older then try the command update now or even update resources.

If you have the same versions then the command rebuild bible index should fix it.

Rom 16:25 in NA27GBS (LLS:1.0.332) is not tagged as "Bible" text; this is causing results from this verse to be omitted. This seems like a book bug to me; I will report it.

My apologies for not noting that I was searching the GBS SESB NA27. When I search in other versions of NA27, I do get 18 hits. So this must be particular to the GBS version. Thanks for reporting it.
