Base Package information no longer shown in "About" (5.1B Beta 1)
The "About" section of the Help menu no longer shows what L5 base package I have purchased.
Anyone else seeing this?

I think after they destroyed my OL package, mine disappeared. Now I'm just a licensee with an email address.

Hi Graham; I just checked mine, and discovered that it is missing. Must have occurred within one of the latest betas as I do recall seeing it not so long ago.

I was wondering about that. I saw mine was gone a while back.
Maybe they decided it was meaningless. Mine certainly was. My most recent base package was L5 Silver combined with the L5 minimal crossgrade. But that was added to the early L4 Platinum I already owned which contained much more (IMO) than even the L5 Platinum. It seems they would have to list all of the base packages ever purchased for it to be clear, and even then, the majority of my resources were purchased separately from a base package.

It disappeared in 5.1a and I'm not missing it!

You guys have packages coming out of your ears. Us lowly OL folks ... it's all we ever had.

I've created a case to look into this - doesn't sound like you necessarily want it back, though!
Thanks Dylan.
I actually think it has some value - in that it provides a simple starting point when trying to determine why certain functionality (based around L5 Datasets) is unavailable to users. So it can be a starting point in helping respond to questions raised on the forums.

Hi Dylan;
As for myself, I guess it has some value (as Graham pointed out), but program wise it doesn't matter one way or another so long as it's consistent.
Thanks

Yeah, but it had to be unreliable, according to how Logos works. People may combine base packages that do not add up consecutively in terms of features and datasets, additionally they may have CD, MC4, MC5 or even older Libronix functionality licences (you could buy things such as Greek Pronunciation separately). Moreover, the various "lines" interfere. When I had the Verbum Switch on, L5 showed Verbum Master as my highest package, when off, it read "Minimal Crossgrade".

Well, I guess its official. I've been unpackaged. (Logos 5.2 About).
I feel like one of the demons wandering around in the Logosian wilderness, no longer able say 'Well, I'm a double crossgrader!'

I think it should list all past base packages. Otherwise, it's only useful and accurate for a small subset of users.

Base Package information has returned in 5.2 Beta 1!
I don't know about the beta, but in 5.2 stable it now claims that all I own is Core Datasets. I think my account shows a bit more than that.[:D]

Interesting - mine shows Gold (which is correct).
Did you buy Core Datasets and then upgrade to another base package?

Nope. Probably a Verbum issue.

Only Verbum (= L5 running with Verbum=yes) recognizes the (latest installed) Verbum base package.
With Verbum=no, L5 will recognize my latest non-Verbum base package, which is L5 MC. With Verbum=yes, L5 showed Verbum Master as my base package, now it says Foundations+
The information may be helpful in support cases for those users who buy one base package in their whole Logos customer life and then wonder why nifty feature XYZ that is explained in a homepage-linked blog article doesn't work. For the patchy libraries some forum regulars put together, it is utterly useless. I'm just happy that - to the best of my knowledge - the Logos program disregards this information and runs features according to the respective licences.

Then it's more complicated, since I certainly have Verbum set to yes, and my Verbum package still doesn't show up. Perhaps a Mac issue, or a 10.6 one?

The correct package is now showing again. My guess would be that it was wrong because my Verbum package had been 'retired', and I hadn't yet updated to a + package.
That solves it for me, but presumably there are still people out there who haven't updated, and for whom the issue remains.
