Logos 5 Crash
I am experiencing Logos5 crash when I am doing a Bible Word study on greek word ἕτερος (heteros) and when I hover my mouse over the search results on greek verses displayed under Septuagint Translation section. All other greek words are working doing fine. Informed Logos support but nothing has been heard yet. Kindly provide your helpful suggestions. Screenshot is attached. Thanks.

The log files should not be "copied and pasted" into the forum. They need to be attached using the paperclip icon in the formatting pallet. Did you enable logging as described in the appropriate link in my signature line?

At least one of the crashes in your logs (perhaps both) have been fixed in 5.1a SR-2. Please install it directly from http://www.logos.com/installation
If it's still crashing after updating to the latest version, please post an updated set of log files.

Yes please… but do not paste the Logs into the thread. If you can still edit your previous post, it would be a kind consideration to delete your logs from the post above.

I have removed the logs pasted earlier. My Logos Bible Software was recently updated to version 5.1a SR-2 thorugh wi fi and hence is updated. The crash on greek word ἕτερος (heteros) is still happening. Am only I facing this problem or there is any other? The updated Log crash error files are attached. Please help.

I haven't been able to reproduce this problem yet.
It's possible that this could be caused by old resources. Please enter "update resources" into the command box at the top of the program and download any updates that are available. If no updates are available, or if it still crashes, some more detail on how this happens would be helpful.
How are you launching the BWS?
In the grey bar labelled "Septuagint Translation" there should be a Settings menu on the far-right side. When you click that, it will let you select a LXX to use. Which one are you using? If you open that LXX from the Library and show the Resource Info, what is listed under "Support Info" at the bottom?
Do you have to click a ring segment to cause the crash, or is hovering over part of the ring enough? Which ring segment are you hovering over?

I have updated resources also and Logos is also up-to-date. This is how I get the crash:
- I open BWS through clicking Guides for greek word ἕτερος (heteros) or by going to history and click.
- In the Septuagint Section, ring of ἕτερος comes. I click at the centre of ring to display all greek verses.
- When I hover over the greek verses displayed for some seconds, the Logos crashes.
I am using the Logos LXX (Septuagint with Logos Morphology) for the look up. The support info for the resource is as follows:
LLS:LOGOSLXX2012-11-01T17:30:15ZLOGOSLXX.logos4
RVI:LXXHEB2012-11-01T01:13:07ZLXXHEB.lbsrvi
I hope this helps.

Hi Deepak
Thank you for those clear steps to outline the problem.
I can reproduce it on my system as well - my resource info is the same as yours.
However, this on a system running 5.1a SR1 (I'm not able to upgrade at the moment) so - based on what Bradley said above - this information might not be of much use!

Thank you. My logos is already updated to 5.1a SR-2. But crash is still happening. Please get it resolved.

Thank you for the additional information; I can now reproduce the problem. This bug will be fixed in a future update.
The crash comes when showing the concordance for one of the small ring segments. (Specifically, for the second segment in the group of segments that have the second-smallest size.) You can avoid it by clicking individual ring segments (instead of clicking the centre of the translation ring), except for that specific segment.

Thanks for confirming that the bug will be fixed in future update. I however, noticed that crash not only happens for the second segment ( consisting of 2 verses) in the group of segments that have the second-smallest size but also for further 3-4 more smaller segments (consisting of 1 verse of heteros). So, the real problem is that there are no verses to be displayed for these instances for the word. There could be such examples for other greek/hebrew words having similar problems which Logos may want to look into in future.

The crash occurs whenever a lemma is used twice in an idiom, e.g., "ἕτερον τῷ ἑτέρῳ" in Ex 26:17. It's likely that many of the small segments represent unique idioms and will also crash. (The fix will allow you to click the centre of the graph--which expands all segments--without crashing, so these small segments will also be fixed.)
