Glad you posted these requirements for Logos, Dan. Personally, I would not consider anything without at least 4 GB RAM, and preferable 8 GB. I don't think I would be satisfied with less, and it would be a shame to spend all the money and not be happy with the results.

I just wish someone had something inexpensive, long lasting, and fast.

heavy sigh.

To borrow an analogy from the auto industry - Do you want an economical sub-compact or a high speed muscle car? Don't know if you will ever find one model to serve both desires.

So true... but I will say I like the concept of this computer and I know Apple has patented a similar thing.... but then apple has patented several designs of laptop that turns into a tablet... none have ever seen light of production... although it would not be affordable, unless you say it;s cheaper than buying an iPad and macbook air.

Don't give up on his one! It is running Windows 32-bit + 32-bit Atom processor with 2 GB RAM, same as my Asus VivoTab Smart. The minimum specs for Logos are based on 64-bit Windows, not 32-bit which will have a smaller footprint. Running File Explorer, browser, MS Outlook email and Logos 5 takes about 1.5 GB.  Just make sure you get the 64 Gb disk (MMC card actually) which leaves you with 30 GB for apps, etc. But get a Class 10 microSD card for Logos. The VivoTab is OK but the T100 has a better performing processor!

Both Davids.  Thanks for your replies.  It would be so nice if Logos was touch friendly running on an affordable device.  The Logos android app (IMHO) continues to be marketed and improved upon as JUST an ereader.  I want them to move the search functions upfront please.

As for Windows 8.1....Jesus may come back first before we get a working machine that I can afford.

The 4.0 series release (currently in beta) goes some way towards addressing this.

There is now a homepage from which you can access reading, search and other functions (such as Passage Guide and BWS)

I know you have posted a number of observations about the Android app in their Android forum. Can you summarise there the specific things you are looking for to provide input into that process?
