BUG 5.2a RC1: Suggested tags

[• If you don't already use that tag, tag a book with 'Apol'.]

• Tag a[nother] book with 'Apol' and hit Enter.

>> The resulting tag shows up as 'apol'.

I shouldn't have to go to the extra trouble of selecting the correct tag in the list just because someone else has chosen to use the same tag but without a capital letter. My own tags should be chosen before others', and an exact match before an inexact, so that Enter gives the expected result, and not something I've never used and have no intention of ever using.

Agreed. Actually I have little—to no—interest in someone else's tags, especially when not tied to a specific resource.

While I actually have no - to very little - interest in someone else's tags.[;)] This is why I set community tags to no under program settings.

Thank you for that information. Was not aware that option had been added.

I can reproduce this and I will create a case for Development to investigate.

    Thanks, Angela.

Let me clarify that "my own tags should be chosen before others'" is more important than the "an exact match before an inexact" part (i e if I'm lazy or sloppy and type 'apol', the automatic choice should be my own tag 'Apol', and not the community tag 'apol').

This has been changed in 5.2a SR 1.

User tags are now separated from Community tags, with User tags at the top of the list.

    • If entered text matches an existing user tag, the existing tag will be listed first.
    • For example, this enables the workflow of typing “bib”, hitting Enter/Return, and getting your tag of “Bible”, rather than a community tag.

So in your case, with your existing Apol tag, typing "apol" will show the list:

Thank you very much indeed! [*] This bug was driving me crazy. Instead of minimizing the risk for typos, it resulted in almost every tag I attached being a 'typo'.
