I am dismayed that we can turn off everything but the advertisements on the home page in the Android app. I don't want to see advertisements I am not asking for.

I believe this is a design decision by Logos.

Hopefully someone from the team will comment further.

I fully understand that Logos wants ads there since it is a free item but for people who have a logos base package it would be nice if they offered an option for turning off the ads.

I think that's a good idea.  I got my $15,000 package for free, so it's perfectly reasonable to see a few ads (for free books).

But for the few that paid, probably 'no-ads' would make sense.

Really? How?

Yes, it is very annoying to be solicited without permission when we have already paid for product.

I'd understood from a prior thread that they would be giving us the option to omit the adverts.

Could we have confirmation from Logos please?

Many apps give a free ad-ridden version plus a paid-for version without apps. Most of us have spent a massive amount on the books for this Logos app and it really grates to be forced to see Logos adds on the way into the Bible and other books we've paid for.

Give us the choice, a way to turn off these annoyances.

I interpreted it as a double-joke, judging from his next line.  Luckily us iOS people don't get the forced adverts (yet?).

If they ever do, I'll drop Logos (which won't mean much ... I've only got 40 Logos5 books .... I found another one).  Plus I rarely use the gee-whiz stuff like checking mileage between Qumran and Jerusalem for sabbath strolls.

I've made the suggestion a few times, and quite pointedly Logos did not interact with it. I took it to mean that someone higher up in the company has stuck to the policy of pushing ads to every user.

Frankly, I cold-restart my smartphone often and when I do need to call up Bible after a device had cold-started, I'm the slowest to get to a biblical passage. SIGNING IN.....  LOADING HOME PAGE ....  ** sigh **

My companions with other programs always beat me to the punch, even those with inferior phones. But me with my spiffy phone and spiffy program, very much behind.

Yes Geeked Yes

I am happy with things on the iOS side (other than greater offline support is always a good idea)... but hope every Logos user can have the best experience possible.

I personally like to get Logos ads. How else am I going to know when there are good deals to take advantage of? However, if someone gets hot and chafey when exposed to ads, it might be worth giving them an On-Off switch.

But what do I know? I use a flip phone.

I don't mind the ads, but I do wish that they auto expired after a period. I don't use Logos all that often on my phone, but when I do I have an obscene number of news items to dismiss from the app.

Since I use my tablet everyday, it's not so bad to read and/or dismiss an item. But when there is a backlog it's more annoying than it is a problem.
