How do you read ALL the text in the Net Bible footnotes?
I chose the net bible as my prime bible of choice. But the problem is when I hold my mouse over the footnotenumber in a verse it only shows 60% of the footnote information on the verse? How can I read ALL the notes in the display?

Is this happening all the time? If so, something is not working right. Most of these footnotes are relatively short. You can right click on a footnote and choose "Show Information" from the bottom right column to see it in a separate window.

The only way I have been able to read the longer notes found in the NET Bible is by opening "NET Bible First Edition Notes" from my Library. Even the Power Lookup tool doesn't display the complete note found, for example, in Gen 1:1.

Hi,
Have you tried left clicking on the footnote, instead of hovering over footnote? It should render the full footnote and make References in the footnote available for next level of popup. It has been like that since Logos3.

No this doesn't work ... there was a similar complaint on another thread. I don't remember the resolution.

Hey, thanks--I didn't realize you could do that.
Bruce, you're right--the longer footnotes don't show completely in the information window. Now that's what I love about these forums--there's always someone (or two, or three) to make sure you get it right.

Ok, maybe I'm totally in the dark on this--but isn't this what LimJK is talking about?

What are you saying does not work? It all works as expected for me.

actually, I have a new wrinkle to add: try genesis 1:1 in NET and use the "power look up" feature. That first note is very long, and on my laptop at least, it ends about 2/3's of the way through it. And there is no way to enlarge that note that I can tell (in power look up)
That seems to be something that should be fixed.

When I click on the resource name at the bottom of the note, the resource is opened so I can see the whole note. Or did I misread yet again?

not sure, MJ. Do you have "Power Lookup" open? It'll dock on the right, I think, and show any footnotes, etc, that are in the NET Bible. Setting your net Bible to Gen 1:1 will give you a long note right off the bat. And you won't be able to read the note, it will cut off in mid sentence. . . and the next note will start. There is no resource button to click within powerlookup that I can tell. The only way to read the whole note is to click on the note reference number inside the NET itself, and then scroll down. But you would think you should be able to see it in power look up .. . even if you have to "expand" the note to see all.

I would suggest that people put NET BIBLE NOTES as a short-cut on your tool-bar. I actually include it on the work-space I have developed. In this way I always have quick access to the tremendous notes. The notes also discuss issues concerning textual criticism.

This may have been a bug in the past (or now) but my NET works like this; hover = teaser, left click = full foot note with scroll bars.bob

Hi,
I learned about this trick in this forum (old news group) few years back for L3, I love this feature. It initially did not work for L4 in September, I think they fixed it after an earlier thread that someone pointed to in this thread.

Yes, you are right (as far as I remember).

but we are still left in the dark as to how to show the rest of the fn in power look up, or why it only shows partially. Not showing all the fn takes the "POW" out of "power."[8-|]

No, if you left click there is a scroll bar so you can see the whole note.

I find that very long footnotes do not show up properly if the Program Scaling is set much higher than 100%. I like to have it at 140%, but when I have to read a long footnote, I have to change it back to 100%, or it doesn't scroll down all the way. The scroll bar just disappears below the bottom of the window, like in this picture:
There's quite a bit more to that footnote.
It's kind of annoying, but I imagine they'll fix it eventually.

I don't know what's wrong but there is no way to open the NET notes up from the powerlookup window....!
And yes....they are truncated!!
EDITED TO ADD: The information window does the same thing at Gen 1:1
Whoops...Help Logos!

Same issues here. I have not played with this much, but it seems that when I had "program scaling" in the Program Settings set on 120% (which is where I normally keep it), and at the same time had the text size slider in the Resource Panel adjusted up to the 7th tick mark or above, I had problems with the pop ups displaying the entire note. When I scaled "program scaling" in Program Settings back down to 100%, then I could scale the text size slider all the way up in the Resource Panel and the text in the foot note pop up would display completely. Maybe there is a conflict between the two adjustments.

One clarification - by pop ups displaying in their entirety, I mean when you left click on the foot note. Just hovering the mouse over the foot note still does not show the entire note when it is lengthy.
