OK, but do you see a "send to kindle" within any books info panel? If so, is it the right address?

alabama 24:

No, I do not see the address.

Let me tell you what I think what happened...

I also have a windows laptop with Vista on it. It does not support Logos 6. Only Logos 5

I typed in the correct command.....set kindle to......@kindle.com

It did not work out. I assumed because of the older version of Logos.

Then I tried to do the same thing on the Mac.

It did not work out either.

So here we are...!

You know...I just don't get this feature at all. What am I missing?? I am wishing to have my 1000+ Kindle books in LOGOS while hundreds are replying to a post about pushing Logos books into Kindle (and 1000s are reading about it). I must be clueless on this one. LOL Just don't get it.

Whats all the hype here?

Logos 6 gives you the possibility to read the books you have in Logos 6 on your Kindle device.

Hope this will help you!

Thanks Arnold, but I get that. Its WHY anyone would want to do that that baffles me. Logos is far superior to Kindle in every way. I couldn't imagine desiring to push a Logos book to Kindle. Thats what I was saying. I completely understand the functionality. Its just the rationale that makes no sense.

Because it's really difficult to run Logos on an e-Ink display, and e-Ink displays are vastly superior than LCD/OLED displays in many scenarios.

I am proud to be an apple snob. I love my Macs and iOS devices. I also love having (most) all my books in my Logos library, but I believe in the right tool for the right job.

I will differentiate READING from STUDYING. It is a technical difference, and I most often use the word "reading" when speaking of both. When I want to consume a book on family ministry, I want to STUDY it... so I highlight and take notes. I want those to be in my Logos library. The best experience for THAT function is to consume the book on my iPad. BUT...

The best "reading" experience is on a device like a kindle paper white (eInk). It is closer to paper, the device is smaller, it has ONE function... to be read. It is SUPERIOR to the iPad for its primary function... "reading." It also helps greatly with eye strain. Staring at backlit screens all day it is nice to have a break.

So if I want to "read" a book and "study" it, I use the Logos app for iOS. It is superior for that function... but when I want to "read" for pleasure, and don't need to have notes/highlights, I use my paper white. I can't stress how much I genuinely love both devices. But there is a "right" tool for the job and I use it.

And to all who helped me.

I called Customer Service just a couple of minutes ago and they helped me out.

Great Service!

Thanks to you all.

I do not know this is the right place to ask...but:

Is it possible when a bible text reference appear in a book to go to that bible text within your Kindle device?

If yes...how do I do that?

The export to Kindle function just sends a copy of the book to your Kindle which simply allows you to read it on that device.  However, the Kindle reader does not have a Logos app that runs on it.

The feature you are asking about - being able to have a bible reference appear where it is referenced in the book - is not available on the kindle reader.

Bible references  DO appear in books that have been sent to Kindle from Logos. Logos adds them automatically when you send the book. You don't need to do anything special.

Sorry, no. The "send to kindle" feature isn't meant to replace the mobile apps... It is meant as an ability to read resources. For more advanced "study," including notes & highlights that sync with Logos, you will need to use one of the mobile apps.

Some links, however, do have popups. If a word or reference has a hyperlink, click on it.

...but it opens in a popup, right? It does not open a copy of a user's bible to that location, right?

Mark Barnes is right...

When a text reference appear in a book, you just click on it and the bible text appears as a footnote in your Kindle.

I am really impressed!

I'm not getting that option. What I get is this. As you can see it says devices and I have the option to manage devices, but not to download to kindle as I see you do. When I click on manage devices I'm sent to the website and I see that my kindle is connected. Any ideas? Thanks.

If you follow the instructions (see link),..that is all you have to do!

You manage your device (Kindle) on the Amazon site!

Hope this will help.

First, welcome to the forums! Smile

The very first post in this thread (SEE HERE) explains what "send to kindle" is about and how to set it up. Did you follow the instructions? If you are still having troubles, it might be best to create a new thread, explain your issue clearly (including steps taken), and provide adequate details.

Also note: Not every resource is "send to kindle" enabled. Three possible reasons:

  1. A publisher licensing restriction.
  2. A technical reason / limitation (i.e. file would be too large and Amazon wouldn't allow it).
  3. A "new" resource (i.e. FL hasn't made the "send to kindle" version yet... <normally> this is within a week of a resource being released... but not always).

Is this feature continuing for new publications? As new releases of the Concordia Commentary come out, they no longer show the "Send To Kindle" feature after months have gone by even though they are smaller and have the same support info.  They used to come out in a timely, orderly manner. One of the reasons I upgraded was for this feature.

it would be best to create a new thread in the general forum with specific titles to get attention

Just another question regarding Kindle...

Is it possible to read Personal Books (created within Logos6) on Kindle?

Thanks.
