Tyndale OT/NT Commentaries

I received and installed the Tyndale Commentaries today. When I went to prioritize the series, I found that the metadata for them does not include any series data.
I wonder --- was this a mistake??? Should we expect to see this data updated in the near future??
Also, I wonder if there is any way to prioritize a series such as this when it is not tagged as a series???
Thanks,
Johnny

I haven't received mine yet so don't know about a work-around. I'm sure they should be treated as a series so this may have been an oversight.
You can report this in the wiki. Take a minute to learn how to edit a wiki entry first if you've never done it before. It's simple.

Yep, but if they are not part of a series, you'd still have to drag every one of them (one at a time, currently) to the prioritization pane to prioritize them.

How did you receive the Tyndales? It is still showing "Under Contract" for me.

I ordered mine months ago from Rejoice Software. I don't recall if that was before they went on Pre-pub on the Logos site or not. It was quite some time ago though. To tell you the truth, I had forgotten that I had ordered them. I remember seeing some discussion in the forums about them shipping soon and thought about placing a pre-pub order for them. . . . . and then I checked and saw that I had already ordered them from RCS.
They came in the mail yesterday.
I have reviewed the materials in them for some of the passages I have preached lately. They will be really useful.

Yep--no series for me either. Missing the Series metadata is a serious problem since I can't easily add those volumes to the preferred list, and therefore the volumes don't show up in the Passage Guide.
Logos, this seems to be a continual problem with new products after they're released. Can it be fixed? (I mean the process, I know the metadata can be updated).

I added this to the wiki metadata page. I hope Logos will push out an update for this right away.
I'm still waiting for my copy. SIGH.

I'm talking in the top six. If I display all the commentaries in the PG, the new Tyndale one is last in a list of fifty (at least for Galatians).
Plus I like to use a collection to limit that long list, and that collection is currently built based on Series names [:D]

Okay, from your first post I thought you had two problems...one that they could not prioritze and two that they would not show up in your Passage Guide.

Perhaps Logos has delayed shipping it's copies to make sure the metadata is correct first. [:P]

On a positive note: The TOTC and TNTC volumes have useful short names assigned to them which was pleasantly unexpected.

Thanks for reporting this; we'll fix it as soon as possible.

There isn't a way to do this without the Series tagging.

Well...I see a fix now, but the fix needs fixing.
The 1Cor volume has a different Series name than the others, and the 2Pet/Jude volume is still missing the series name:

I just got the Tyndale commentaries via download (even though they are also apparently being shipped with the additional expense) and I do not show any Series meta data.

I don't understand how often metadata updates are done now. It seemed like they used to get sent every time you started up, but now I don't see it in the logs as much.

How about reviews on this commentary series (anyone)? It seems like the books are short so I am wondering if this material would be valuable on top of the sets that already come in platinum? I really get the most out of NAC, Baker NTC, Pillar, and Holman.
TIA

If you search on the word Tyndale in the forum you'll find some discussions about the value of these. I think that might be the best way to try to answer your question.

This is so annoying Bob/Dan - it should never occur.

Well this is unbelievably annoying. Two of my Tyndales have series metadata, and the rest do not. That would not be so bad, if I knew how new metadata could be had. Supposedly this is fixed, but I can't access the fix.
UGH.

This is the situation I am in.
I have the newest metadata corrections but not the previous one.
There is obviously a bug in the metadata update process.
