Doc B:

Keep that in mind when the fanboys jump on you.

I've tried saying the same thing nicely, and no one listens. I've tried being a bit rude, and a few people listen. Squeaky wheel.

Some time Gracefully doesn't get it, Even Jesus had to pick up a whip.

Thank you for the link. It is for Office 2010, and I have 2011—which is the Mac version of 2010. So I went to the Mactopia download page http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads. There is no manual there, nor is there a link back to the 2010 downloads page. It appears that we were each partially correct. While the manual for Office 2010 will probably work for 2011, MS did not provide a link for Mac users to download that document.

I do appreciate the link—and the correction.

Why don't you use your $20 Christmas Gift from Logos, see logos.com for details and buy the manual from Morris P. Then it is technically free...

Research a little more. With shipping, it is $28. Sad

I didn't research it at all, as it was a simple suggestion. If it doesn't work, then ignore the suggestion. I thought it might be a win-win for everyone involved. I have been around long enough to know when to post, and had a lapse in judgement. Apology that my suggestion was not thought through enough... Have a Merry Christmas.

Thanks for that link. Never heard of APRESS before. Guess this is not a MS publication. Which would explain why there is no link on the Mactopia downloads page.

I will enjoy—but probably only the MS Word portions.

Guess that makes 2 of us. It is easy to misunderstand a post on a forum. I actually thought your idea was quite inventive. I went to the website to do as you suggested ... only to become irritated by a $13 shipping charge on a $15 book. I am certainly sorry I ruffled your feathers.

Yep, MS has no manual per se for Mac Office 2011. Which tells us something, no? Smile

A book I can read offline that will teach me everything about the program I need to know...

Information about program capabilities is helpful.  However, many hours will be needed working with library, resources, guides, and tools.  Part of the practical value in Camp Logos is how to use capabilities for efficient study.  For example, tagging and collections are helpful for creating virtual bookshelves (groups of resources).

Camp Logos Schedule => https://www.logos.com/camp/dates

Thankful for many friendly forum discussions; have learned a lot plus have a lot to learn.

Logos 6 has a number of new/enhanced capabilities so have a tab open to => What's New in Logos 6 that links to threads with discussions and examples.  Also watching for Camp Logos 1 & 2 near Colorado.

I'll keep smiling and drudging thru L6 learning it, but if I have to pay $400 dollars plus 300+ for a plane ticket plus 300+ for hotel and 200+ for food for 3 days of training a total of $1100+ dollars to get 3 days of training shouldn't I just buy the top accordance program with free user manuals and free help and free training seminars

http://www.accordancebible.com/Seminars-And-Shows and for $19.90 I can buy a seminar training manual

Bryan, Logos has a very broad range of tools and ways to do something. I found that the MP materials are impressively put together -- I would recommend them as a model. However, I have found that his seminar gave me very little beyond the confidence to use the videos, blogs and forums to learn what I needed for the way I need to use Logos. If I were a Southern Baptist pastor writing nothing but sermons I might feel differently. Don't get me wrong as MP is an excellent teacher. And remember, the more limited the software, the shorter the training and reference manual - and the lower the cost. And go ahead and start a new thread each time you have a question ... you'll get good advice quite quickly ... nearly personal tutoring for free.

Personally I prefer and it's a good manner for Logos to give free manuals on each major releases. I know this creates a good job for Morris, but for me as a customer I choose to have an excellent pdf I can refer now and then.

For training reference, prefer digital resource(s) in Logos library.  Thankful for pre-publication => https://www.logos.com/product/48987/logos-6-whats-new of print manual => https://www.logos.com/product/46719/logos-6-whats-new-manual (and noticed several comments requesting that these resources become free)  Thankful for $ 20 free Christmas gift from Faithlife, which is more than $ 14.95 for Logos 6 pre-publication manual (so have used $ 20 gift for other resources and will pay for Logos 6 What's New digital resource).

Logos Help (in the application) has a Table of Contents that does not fit in one screen shot:

What help content needs more explanation? e.g. description for Weight and Measures Interactive ?  Resource Priority lacks Advanced ?

What help content needs to be added? e.g. How to add documents from Faithlife ?  Link to example Search Field usage ?

Did you notice it was free to anyone who has purchased there program though, plus they have videos and webinars every day,

Here's the deal so perhaps you might get it for those of us that would like a manual. A manual is different than the the help menu in the top right corner, a manual I can read and study, the help ? is designed to help me when I realize I have a problem. A Manual I can read and study to see what the software can do  There are features in this program a lot of people don't even know about well for the simple fact they don't know the feature exist a manual would fix this. Plus a manual explains things in great detail it doesn't just hit the high points it hits every point and this is why a lot of people are frustrated with Logos.

Second I am thankful for all the free stuff Faithlife offers, but as long as I am paying for it I'm going to speak my mind about it your entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine, get used to it cause I'm here to stay.
